Our story began during our sophomore year at Miami University, where we met at a "day party" through mutual friends. I still smile when I remember how I got her number – by offering to send an accounting study guide, which she probably didn't need nor use.

In the early days of our relationship, one of my friends made a bold prediction: "You're gonna marry her." At the time, it seemed like such a bold remark, but as the years passed, it became clear that there was truth in those words.

After graduation, we embarked on a three-year-long distance relationship. The first leg was a manageable three-hour drive from Columbus to Erie, PA. But when a job opportunity led me to Orange County, CA, our relationship faced its greatest test yet – a seven-hour travel time apart.

Despite the miles between us, our bond only grew stronger. We cherished our weekends together, exploring the beaches of California and making the most of our time in each other's company.

Thankfully, another opportunity arose, bringing me back to Columbus. Finally, we were in the same city again, and our relationship evolved as we moved in together. I never knew there was a wrong way to load a dishwasher.

Fast forward to celebrating our seventh anniversary-- we were leaving dinner in downtown Columbus and Morgan was asking why we weren't engaged yet, which I kindly suggested we put off talking about until later that night. We walked by the courthouse on the Scioto River and I got down on one knee and asked her to be my partner for life. Morgan was (somehow) surprised and we spent the rest of the night celebrating and sharing the news with our loved ones.

Now, as we eagerly await our wedding day, I'm grateful for the journey that brought us here. From a simple accounting study guide to the profound commitment of engagement and marriage, our love has endured the tests of time and distance. And I couldn't be more excited to spend the rest of my life with her by my side.
