How do I get there?

We know that some will be making a big journey up from down south and others just traveling across Scotland. Our entire wedding will be held at Cottiers. Once you are in Glasgow, the venue is located in the West End and is easy to find. There is local parking nearby, as well as local buses and the subway! If you need help with how to get here we can give you extra details depending on where you are staying. The travel tab should contain details on local hotels and parking.

What do I wear?

As the bride and groom we get the easy job of having obvious requirements for what we wear! - However, if you are like Hettie and stress about your outfit choices, having some info on the attire can be helpful. Our wedding party will include groomsmen in kilts and bridesmaids in a mix of green dresses. For guests, please don't worry about the typical rules of no black or white dresses, and use our wedding as an excuse to get your glad rags on! - If you are heading up from down south and need to pack for a few days, Glaswegian weather (and all Scottish weather) can be unpredictable over the summer, so bring your shorts and a raincoat!

What is a Ceilidh?

As this is a Scottish wedding we have included a Ceilidh, which is a type of Scottish social dancing! For those who have never Ceilidh-ed before, it basically includes getting flung about the dance floor and skipping about arm in arm. So bring some flat shoes to avoid broken ankles or having your toes trodden on! If you would like to see some examples, our wedding band is the fantastic 'It's No Reel', which you can look up on Youtube to find out how to Ceilidh!

How should I RSVP?

Firstly if you can't make it to our wedding, we won't be offended but you will be very much missed! If you are attending please RSVP by emailing us at ewanandhettiewedding@gmail.com.

Gifts and presents?

The most important thing is to have you with us on our special day. No gifts are expected and as we have already lived together for nearly 5 years, we think we have everything we need. However, if you do wish to give us something, a little cash to spend on a honeymoon would be very much appreciated.

Are children and babies welcome?

This is entirely up to you! We understand that some might want to make arrangements so they can have a relaxing evening, and others may want to bring them along. There will be some of our younger relatives at the event and table settings can be adjusted should you wish to bring your wee ones along.
