This is my favorite story to tell! Starting a new job in hospice, I had my first solo patient in Gleason Tn. Upon my first meeting with the patient I ran into Will whom I knew from a previous occurrence. We spoke for a few minutes and then he left while I cared for his sweet, and precious grandmother. She and I became pretty close due to all the conversations we would have. She would tell me “Will needs to settle down with a good woman like yourself”. Will and his grandmother were so close and their bond was something all grandchildren wish to have with their grandparents. A few weeks later, after the sad news that she had passed, I texted Will to find out how he was holding up. We were both going through a very rough time in our personal lives and we loved the conversation that we both could have with one another. We talked ALL DAY EVERYDAY. Our first day consisted of going to Captain D’s (both of our favorite fast food restaurants), and riding back roads in the diesel while listening to our favorite classic rock songs and making each other laugh til we were in tears. When the kids finally met and we saw that they all clicked and got along we knew that it was time to take the step and try to see how things would go as a couple. On May 10, 2022 we officially became a couple and have been inseparable since. I always tell people that we healed each other while healing ourselves. We both have prayed for happiness. We can not wait to share this beautiful and special next step with all the friends and family we are so lucky to have. Here’s to our next adventure together!
