Our Wedding

Ross and I met in 5th grade. We went to different elementary schools so we didn't cross paths until the beautifully awkward age of 12. I had a crush on him immediately - he had wild curly hair and the prettiest eyes. If you remember the '90s show "Boy Meets World," Ross was my Cory Matthews. In 6th grade, Ross took me on my very first date to see a cinematic masterpiece... Dickie Roberts: Former Child Star. Sure, it didn't win any Oscars, but I can still remember the feeling of him holding my (nervously sweaty) hand. We went out again in 8th grade but ultimately just became the very best of friends all through high school. There was no one I trusted more than Ross and his friendship made high school some of the best years of my life. Our senior year, we finally got together again. He took me to our Senior prom and let me cry all night at our graduation. Our paths split at that point - Ross went to college in Evansville and I went Transy in Lexington. After college, Ross moved to NYC where he lived for 8 years. After my own brief stint in NYC, I settled in Greenville, South Carolina. Covid brought along some strange, dark times for our big world. But if there was one shining moment, it caused Ross to reenter my own little world. After one flirty Instagram comment, we picked up right where we left off 10 years prior. Over our 2.5 years of long distance, Ross and I made every moment count. We had countless fun weekends in NYC and Greenville. We spent an amazing month in Europe. There were phone calls, flowers, and millions of text messages. Ross moved to Greenville in Oct. 2022 where we finally put the long distance behind us. Ross proposed in March 2023 and we cannot wait to begin the rest of our lives together!

CAMP GREYSTONE

I spent every summer from 2002 - 2016 at Greystone. I was a camper for 8 years, a nanny for 1 year, a counselor for 3 years, and on head staff for 3 years. I "gave up" my cell phone, the internet, and friends from home to escape to my little miracle in the mountains. Those 15 years at Greystone transformed me in a way that I could never describe. I can't believe how lucky I am to now celebrate my marriage at Greystone 22 years later.

WHITE HALL

White Hall is located on the Upper Road. When you pull into the front gates of Greystone, you will keep right going uphill. Upon arrival, check in at White Hall (to the right of the Dining Hall) for weekend information. This will serve as our "hospitality center!"

VOW RENEWAL: SHEPHERD'S GAZEBO

The Sheperd's Gazebo is located lakeside on the grassy Pageant Court. We cannot wait to say "I Do" in front of our loved ones!

FRIDAY NIGHT DINNER

The Pavilion is located on the lower road.We hope you'll join us for the "Twas The Night Before" welcome party!

SATURDAY CELEBRATION: GYMNASIUM

Our reception will be at the Gymnasium. The gymnasium is lakeside near the Blob Dock.

The Dining Hall

Though no wedding events will occur inside the Dining Hall, the Dining Hall porch is the best spot to enjoy a cup of coffee while taking in the lake and mountain view!

How do I get to camp?

If you are arriving on Friday, you'll enter through Camp Greystone's front gates. GPS Address: 80 Apple Hill Lane, Zirconia, NC 28790. Simpling inputting "Camp Greystone" into your GPS will take you to a different gate! Once through the front gates, veer right on the Upper Road (Honesty Lane). You'll see a sign for White Hall. Temporarily park in the loop beside the Dining Hall. Head into White Hall to check in! If you arrive after 4pm on Friday, it will be a self-check in at White Hall.

What happens after I check in?

If you're arriving Friday and staying at Camp, you will check in at White Hall and quickly unload your car onto the porch of your cabin. After unloading, please continue on the Upper Road and following the signs for parking.

What can you tell me about the Vow Renewal?

After Hurricane Helene postponed our plans, Ross and I eloped over Thanksgiving while home in Kentucky. We still want to celebrate BIG with all of our loved ones all weekend! Our Vow Renewal will be Friday evening and we will enjoy Hubba Hubba BBQ after (A Flat Rock favorite!). The night will be low-key and festive!

What if I can't make it to the vow renewal on friday?

No worries at all! We totally understand if Friday evening isn't a possibility, we hope to celebrate with you all day and night on Saturday!

What do I need to bring with me if I am staying at camp?

We are so excited you're staying at camp! When you arrive at your cabin, you'll see your bunks already made! Each cabin also has a bathroom, shower, sink, closet, etc. You will need to bring a pillow, bath towels, and an extra blanket if you get cold! Though there is no air conditioning or heating, the average weather is amazing in October! High 60s / Low 70s. There are also plenty of plug-ins if you want to bring a fan (and of course your electronics!)

Christmas?!

True Story - Ross and I had barely been dating a month when my mom sat me down and said "I HAVE THE PERFECT WEDDING THEME FOR YOU." And alas, Camp and Christmas was born. Two of my favorite things + Ross! We are having a full-blown Christmas weekend. No need to pack anything special - just hope you're feeling merry!

IS THERE A DRESS CODE?

We recognize that we are at a camp - please do not stress about attire! We want you to be comfortable and have FUN! We suggest "Dressy Casual" for both Friday and Saturday. Definitely keep in mind that camp's terrain is indeed outside - so maybe steer clear of high heels!

WHEN IS MY RSVP DUE?

Please RSVP on our website by August 15th.For our traveling guests: at the time you RSVP, please have an accomodation plan. You will need to decide if you'll be staying at Greystone or opting for a hotel. See the "Accomodations" tab for more information!

For those traveling to the area, you are welcome to be our guests in one of the cabins at Camp on Friday and Saturday. We appreciate you making the drive! At the time you RSVP on August 1st, we will need to know your housing plans. Are you staying at camp or opting for a hotel? Friendly reminder that Greystone IS a summer camp - the cabins will not have Air Conditioning / Heat and you'll be sleeping in twin bunk beds. :) That said, they do have electricity if you want to bring a fan! There are bathrooms in each cabin as well.

Accommodations

Best part of a camp wedding!? CAMP! Camp Greystone is Heaven on Earth and we wouldn't blame you at all if you wanted to spend your Saturday exploring it! Feel free to bring your tennis or pickleball supplies for a game on the courts. We will also have cornhole, croquet, and some other lawn games to enjoy. Take a long walk on the River Trail. Enjoy a moment of quiet in the lakefront Adirondack chairs. We love Greystone and we know you will, too!

Downtown Hendersonville is a short 15-20 minute drive from Greystone. Be sure to check out Mast General Store! Flat Rock Eats (closest to camp): Flat Rock Bakery (Hilary's favorite!), Campfire Grill, Hubba Hubba BBQ Downtown Eats: Kilwin's (ice cream and fudge), Umi, West First Wood-Fired Pizza and White Duck Taco Shop.

Welcome to Ross and Hilary's home! We absolutely love Greenville and would love if you explored our beautiful downtown! It is less than an hour from Greystone and has so much to offer. At its center, Falls Park on the Reedy features beautiful gardens, walking trails, and the iconic Liberty Bridge, which offers stunning views of the waterfalls. Favorite Downtown Eats: Jones Oyster Bar (our top fave!!!), Roost, Hall's Chophouse, Cantina 76, Camp, Juniper, Nose Dive, the list goes on and on!

The Biltmore is truly spectacular and if you have a few extra days in our area, it is a MUST. You can also stay on the grounds overnight! In addition to Biltmore House &amp; Gardens and the Winery, shops, and restaurants of Antler Hill Village, Biltmore's 8,000-acre backyard invites your exploration. Miles of walking, hiking, and biking trails, acres of gardens, and endless actvities! The Biltmore is about 40-60 minutes from Greystone. Note: Traffic on I26 might be a bear! Take this into consideration when planning!

The Blueridge Parkway provides stunning views for both driving AND hiking! Some popular (and Google-able) hikes include: Frying Pan Tower, Graveyard Fields, Black Balsam Knob and Devil's Courthouse. Distances may vary!

Blue Ridge Parkway

Sierra Nevada’s east coast brewing, bottling and distribution operation in Mills River is located about 25 minutes from Greystone. The Taproom offers 20 beers on tap. The restaurant serves farm-to-table dishes that are mainly supplied locally. Located in Henderson County on approximately 90 acres along the French Broad River. Don't skip the Duck Fat Fries! Note: Traffic on I26 might be a bear! Take this into consideration when planning!
