Our story begins with a night out with friends, a few shots, and one very awkward hug.

In June 2021, I was out with friends when I ran into an old life guarding buddy, Jillie Betts, who also happened to be with friends; one of those being her childhood best friend, Michael Yarman. We didn't know it yet, but that night would eventually change our lives. We danced, had an intense conversation about college volleyball, downed some shots and at the end of the night (after a very awkward side hug) Michael asked for my number. We texted the usually "hello" "hello" but that is where the conversation stalled. Then a whole year later I was out for my sister, Kate's, birthday and she was telling me how she had run into her friend from 6th grade, "Yarman." And when he walked over to hand kate her birthday beer she introduced us and of course Michael said "yeah we've actually met before." And we've been together ever since. A truly serendipitous love story.
