The Love Story of Hogan & Miyu

It actually started in high school… Miyu was a sophomore and Hogan was a senior when their paths first crossed at a school camping retreat. Miyu and Hogan were not the most outdoorsy people, so they felt a bit out of place spending the next three days in the dirt, rain, and heat with a group of people they didn’t know. But as soon as their playful and complementary personalities met, Hogan and Miyu immediately hit it off. Hogan used those three days to get to know Miyu and charm her with his silly jokes. Somehow, it worked.&nbsp; While fairytales would say they lived “Happily Ever After”, this wasn’t the case for them; not yet at least. Though their connection was instant, their love story was a gradual burn. After camp, Miyu and Hogan remained friends. Hogan was headed off to college, and Miyu was dancing her way through high school. They intermittently stayed in touch and would reconnect when Hogan came home for breaks, but part again during the school year. They didn’t see each other often, but when they did there was a type of connection that was unique to them. But of course, since they were “just friends” they never admitted to their feelings for each other.&nbsp; Eventually, Hogan returned to Hawaii and knew he wanted to take things to the next level. He mustered up the courage to ask Miyu out…she hit him with rejection. However, with little time (and Hogan’s persistence) she realized that she couldn’t deny the unexplainable chemistry they had and came back around.&nbsp; 5+ years later, and they have been together since. Their connection has grown into a true partnership, and their love for each other has only gotten stronger.&nbsp;Along the way, they racked up countless hours of movie-watching, endeavored a variety of yummy restaurants, and became parents to 3 joyfully chaotic cats. Their love story has been a winding and unpredictable journey, but they know this is only the beginning. Now, it’s time for them to get married, and they are so grateful to be able to celebrate with their loved ones. They can’t wait to experience this next chapter of their lives together and find their happily ever after.

Ko Olina Resort lies along the leeward coast of O'ahu featuring a string of four jewel-like lagoons. The Grand Lawn at Lagoon 4 is on the southernmost point of the resort fronting a gorgeous backdrop of the crystal ocean. The ceremony will occur during sunset with cocktail hour and reception to follow. All wedding activities will be held outdoors.
