Zoe and Holdin met while Zoe was in school at Lees McRae College and he was attending Surry Community College. The two met online and had their first date at The Tavern in Banner Elk, NC. Being long distance they spent many hours on FaceTime getting to know each other and falling in love.

After dating for a year, Holdin went to Zoe's dad, Terry, and asked for her hand in marriage and they began discussing plans for the proposal.

Holdin and Zoe took an anniversary trip to Banner Elk, where their story began. They took a day trip to Grandfather Mountain where Holdin popped the question and Zoe said "YES!" The rest is history!
