How We Met

Our story starts with a little nudge from our mutual friend Paige. Funny enough, Kyle wasn’t keen on meeting me until chukar season wrapped up, and Holland wasn’t interested until she heard about Kyle’s new GSP puppy. Turns out, a lot can change in the pursuit of game birds and cute dogs! Our first hangout was a casual beer and ping pong night—where Kyle decisively trounced me at the game. Afterward, we headed to his place for pizza and ended up talking until 3 a.m. That simple chat turned into an unforgettable night, and we both knew something special was in the air.

The First Date

Our first date was a mix of spontaneity and planning. We kicked things off at Sierra Tap House, a small bar where we quickly discovered we were both fans of good beer. From there, we made our way to Tokyo Sushi, where Holland impressively out-ate Kyle in sushi rolls. The evening wrapped up at Holland’s place, watching her favorite cooking shows. In true Holland style, she introduced Kyle and Indy to her five roommates —though Indy ended up getting an extra dose of love from all six of us for her college years.

Adventures Together

Over the years, our adventures have taken us from the beaches of Hawaii and the wilderness of Alaska to cozy weekend camping trips and mountain hikes. We’ve explored new cities and enjoyed quiet nights by the fire with a bottle of Pinot. Sunday mornings are our time to redo the house, cook out on the patio, and savor coffee together. Each moment has been filled with laughter, love, and the occasional project that turns into a fun, spontaneous activity.

The Proposal

The proposal was a memorable blend of romance and our unique style. During a sunset photoshoot, Kyle popped the question with just a few (and surprisingly rare) tears. We celebrated with champagne and headed home to a surprise engagement party organized by Holland’s sister, Chelsea. It was an intimate, heartfelt moment that perfectly captured who we are as a couple.
