Our story is a story of redemption, forgiveness, faithfulness, and joy. Our story is one of healing, trust, and seeing the goodness of the Lord. And our story is just beginning.
Josh and I met 12 years ago at youth group at JFM. He told me he got clay pigeons for a Christmas gift - and I knew from that moment that I wanted to be friends with him. It wasn't long after that that our high school relationship began - my first boyfriend! But as most high school relationships do, we broke up at the end of the school year.
After that, Josh and I stayed in touch, but went our own ways. I took off for college, Josh went to the National Guard and we both moved on.
When I moved back to MI Josh and I reconnected through a series of unfortunate, tricky, and painful events. When asked a year ago, I told my mom I would never date Josh. (But she had been praying for Josh before we even started dating again!) Our friendship bloomed again over this last summer, shooting bows together and being at JFM together. When Josh asked me out in the fall I still wasn't sure, but the Lord gave me a peace about it I will never be able to describe, and so day by day, I (not so slowly) fell in love with my high school sweetheart all over again.
Josh - you have given me a chance to see how Christ loves us. You are servant hearted, loyal, hardworking, honest, trustworthy, and goofy. You are my best friend, and I am beyond excited for you to be my husband. God really had a special plan for us, one I never could have imagined. He is so kind to us both.
Here is to getting to love you forever, worship the Lord together, and a spring break I will never forget!
