Our Wedding

Taylor and Holly met through mutual friends while in undergrad (to keep it PG). Although neither were necessarily looking for a relationship, both seemed to be open to getting to know each other. However, since Holly was in her last semester before graduating, and Taylor still had another year left, Holly was skeptical of long-distance relationships and opened up to Taylor about this. Taylor reassured her that if they were determined to make it work, it would work out. (As Holly thought Taylor was way out of her league, it comforted her knowing he was willing to make it work.) So as Holly moved back to northern Indiana to complete graduate school, and through Taylor graduating and moving to Milwaukee, WI, they did over 2 years of long distance! They then did a year of living 15 minutes from one another before moving in together in Nashville, TN. While Taylor completed 3 years of law school, Holly worked at a café to support his endeavors leading to getting a job in Raleigh, NC! Now in Raleigh, they have hopes to make this city their home and plant roots for the foreseeable future.

How The Couple Met

After arriving in The Outer Banks (OBX), Taylor and Holly killed time waiting to check in to their hotel by grabbing food, exploring the area, and going to the Wright Brothers Museum while eagerly waiting to go to the beach! This is Hollys first hand experience of the proposal: We came back to the hotel where we then went to the beach to go look for seashells... I saw Taylor keep his tennis shoes on which I figured hed just take them off later so we walked down then he stopped and was like oh shoot, *looking at his shoes*, Im going to go put these back and I was like, why dont you just put them under the deck? He said I dont want them getting stolen. I didnt think it was that big of a deal but didnt think much of it as it is totally something Taylor would do/say. So he walks back to the room and I go stake out where the seashells are and when I get closer to the water, there are a BUNCH of clear goopy looking round things everywhere. Im like what the heck?! Thinking theyre jellyfish maybe but Id never seen something like it! So Im impatiently waiting for Taylor to come back so I can show him! I finally see him and I walk up to him and Im telling him whats on the beach which he knew exactly what it was without seeing it and was wanting to find seashells along the small dunes furthest from the water- I questioned nothing. He goes up on this (probably privately owned) boardwalk (picture shown) deck and I follow as he tells me theres usually shells hidden in the bushy grass and stuff. So he goes up and sure enough, happens to find a big ol shell and Im like, OOH! so then he goes to the other side and I follow and he bends down to get a shell and Im looking at the ground where I go to look in his direction and hes facing me on one knee holding a ring and all I say is oh my gosh really?! As Im smiling ear to ear 😊 completely frozen in shock- then he says, I just have one question for you.. and I say yesss???! And he says will you marry me? And I say yes of course! as Im still in a state of shock. He stands up, we kiss and hug and he wipes away his tear, then starts crying harder because he was so full of nervousness and it hit him all at once♥️ I tell him hes sweet and I love him to comfort him and then we go back around and sit on the boardwalk and talk about all the BTS hes had planned and how he talked to my dad and bought the ring and had to throw me off because I was onto him about proposing on the OBX lol The ring is also a whole size too big so having to wear it on my middle finger for now instead of the ring finger so it doesnt fall off but its gorgeous!
