Our Story

In the fall of 2014 we both began our senior year of high school at Bishop England. We didn’t know each other just yet, but our friendship was about to begin! We had a couple classes together including our free period. This is the time we hung out the most! Andrew would help me every week to put up the poster for the football game that the cheerleaders made. This was our weekly “thing” and Andrew claims this is when he started crushing!&nbsp; A couple months went by and we established that we would be each other’s best friends! We stayed true to that, always hanging out at school, and even driving together to go take the ACT. Well, the new year rolls around to 2015 and we have our first date on a day we had off of school. A couple weeks later Andrew and I planned a full day of fun on Valentine’s Day which ended at the Isle of Palms beach watching the sunset where Andrew asked me to be his girlfriend! We graduated in 2015 and went off to different colleges after only dating for 6 months. Sophomore year, Andrew transferred to Clemson to join me cheering on the tigers!! We both graduated in 2019 and moved back to Charleston! After celebrating our 5th anniversary while I lived at Disney World for a brief time, Andrew asked my parents if he could marry me!&nbsp; So, on August 8, 2020 my life changed forever and we finally became engaged! Our story is my favorite story and I wouldn't change a thing with my high school sweetheart!

Holly's Point of View

My family has always taken family pictures so this wasn’t an unusual thing to do. Our family photographer, Mrs. Jennifer, was looking to revamp her business and wanted to get some pictures of our family to put on her new website (or so I was told).&nbsp; So on August 8, 2020, we headed over to Sullivan’s Island beach to take our family pictures. We took pictures for a little while and set up for another one by facing the ocean. Mrs. Jennifer said to turn around when she says so, so I just waited for her word. A couple seconds later, I heard “turn around” and there I see Andrew walking toward me all dressed up. My family walked to the side and Andrew’s family came out behind as well.&nbsp; He walks up to me and as shocked as I was, gets on one knee and asks me to marry him!!! And I said YES!!! (Even though I thought it was all a dream!) We celebrated with both of our families on the beach and I just could not believe this was real life...Andrew and I are getting married!!!!

Andrew's Point of View

I had been planning on asking Holly to marry me for a long time, but it was never the right time until 2020. Once I finally built up the courage to ask her parents I knew it was time. I asked her parents while Holly was in Alabama visiting a friend. The next day, her mom and I went ring shopping! We picked out the perfect ring and her mom suggested I ask as soon as possible because of two reasons, 1) I can’t keep secrets to save my life and 2) I was SO nervous buying the ring!&nbsp; So the day finally came, August 8, 2020! The day our lives would change forever, the day that we would start our forever together! Holly’s mom and I had planned the perfect engagement! I knew that her family always took family photos, so I used that to my advantage because I knew that she would never expect a thing!&nbsp; I woke up the day of and picked up the ring and it was absolutely perfect! My family and I arrived at Sullivan’s Island beach while they were in the middle of the photos. I wanted Holly to be facing the water when I walked up so she wouldn’t see me! I texted her sister that we arrived and that’s when they started taking photos facing the water, I walked out and she turned around!&nbsp; I’m not going to lie I almost threw up a couple of times throughout the morning, but the second I saw her I felt calm, I felt great, and all the nerves went away! I was ready to ask her to be my wife! SO I walked up to her, got on one knee and asked! She said YES!!!! The day that she always waited for came and I’m so happy that I will call her my wife!!!
