Our ceremony will be at St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church in Middletown, CT. Our venue will be at The Riverhouse at Goodspeed Station in Haddam, CT.

The ceremony at the Church will start promptly at 3pm. Cocktail hour will commence at 5:30pm and the reception will follow directly after. Since there will be some down time in between the ceremony and reception, we encourage our guests to use this time to check in and settle into their hotel rooms. There are many great bars and restaurants around the area, as well as The Tavern located within The Inn at Middletown.

We are asking guests to arrive at the church between 2:30-2:45pm to ensure that nothing is missed.

Yes! We are asking our guests to dress up with us! The dress code is formal attire. Formal wear for gentleman may include a jacket and a tie or traditional suit, a tuxedo is not required. For women, this includes floor-length, tea-length, midi formal, or formal cocktail dresses. Please no jeans or sneakers!

Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate additional guests, we can only accommodate those formally invited on your wedding invitation. Your invitation will be addressed as {Your Name} + {Guest} if a plus one has been given to you.

Due to limited numbers, we hope you appreciate that children are only invited if named. Your invitation will be made out to "The {Your Last Name} Family" if your children have been invited and "Mr. and Mrs. {Your Last Name} if only you and your significant other have been invited.

Our room block will be at The Inn at Middletown. You can use the code "NelsonHicks" when reserving your room. There can be more information found on the "Travel" page of our wedding website.

The hotel books up quickly, so it is recommended that you make your reservation with The Inn at Middletown as soon as possible. Please be aware that the last day in which you will be able to make a reservation within our room block will be October 7, 2024.

If you are booking at The Inn at Middletown, check in is at 3pm - the hotel cannot guarantee an early check in although it may be possible. We encourage our guests to use the "downtime" in between the ceremony and reception to check into their hotels and settle in. If you plan to book with another hotel within the area, we encourage you to ask them directly what their check in time is.

We will provide a shuttle bus service for all guests attending our wedding that will leave AFTER the ceremony from The Inn at Middletown and drive to and from The Riverhouse - it will bring you to the reception and back home to The Inn at Middletown. Unfortunately, our shuttle bus will NOT run to other hotels listed on our page. If you plan to stay at a different hotel, please make sure you have a plan in order to get back to your hotel after the wedding or after the after party.
