Holly's version of events..
Justin and I met at our very first jobs at Mars Supermarket. I was a cashier and he worked in the Grocery department stocking shelves. He was always so quiet, but we always said hi to each other in passing. Justin had VERY long hair, he always reminded me of a surfer - I loved it! He was also dating another cashier and I was dating a guy who also worked at the store. We continued to go about our lives and would run into each other here and there, but that was about it..
10 years later.. (Spongebob voice)
I had just gotten out of a bad relationship. Dating wasn't something I really wanted to be doing, but I figured I'd try the dating apps for shits and giggles. I had been on one of the apps for maybe a week.. I came across Justin's profile and in my head I'm like "Omg! I know him!". I always "swiped right" on people I knew because I always thought it was funny. I messaged him and we talked all day, everyday for about a week. Justin finally asked me to go to dinner, so we went to Iron Age on a random Monday in November. In my head, I was totally thinking this will just be a free dinner and I'll go about my business. Previous online dating experiences were rough for me, hahahah. We got through dinner and I always offer to split the check - Justin immediately agreed. I went home and told my Mom that I definitely wouldn't be going on another date with him since he didn't pay the whole bill! She laughed and told me to give him another shot. So I did and the rest is history..
Justin's version of events..
Working at mars was a pretty good time in my life. I met a lot of good people and forged some pretty solid friendships that still stand today. One of those good people was Holly. The first time I saw her in the store, she was wearing her school uniform. She was very cute, but obviously too young and innocent for me. Besides, I was already dating another cashier at the time.
Fast forward 10 years..
I had just recently broken up with my girlfriend and started to get back into the flow of single life. A friend of mine had mentioned that he was on a couple dating apps. I never remotely considered using one up until that point, I said why the hell not. After talking with a couple random girls on the app, I happened across a familiar face and was definitely caught off guard. Naturally, I had to send her a message and we talked pretty much daily for about a week or so until I finally asked her to go to dinner with me. Dinner went very well and like the gentleman I am, I offered to pay the bill. She insisted on splitting the check, so I naturally I obliged.
I was able to score a couple more dates after that and the more time we spent together, the more I came to realize how wrong I actually was about her. Come to discover.. she has tattoos, curses and drinks like a sailor. She was my kind of girl all along! We often frequented a neighborhood bar that was within walking distance of her place. Our first trip there I got felt up by the owner of the bar, an old ass man by the way.. It took everything I had to keep my cool and not get into it with this ole pervert on our second date. She was mortified and apologized the rest of the night. She thanked me for not starting anything and putting up with it. In that moment, I knew there wasn’t going to be any dull moments in this relationship. Oh how right I was!
