Ethan and I crossed paths all throughout growing up. We were in the same Sunday school classrooms, attended the same student ministry events, but never talked much until college ministry. I remember Ethan singing "Smelly Cat" from Friends at our student ministry talent show in 2019 and thinking he was the goofiest dude I had ever seen. I pretty much always knew who he was, but we never had any real conversations. I remember finding out he went to my gym and talking about it at a Danbury retreat in October 2022. That conversation broke the ice a little for me because now Ethan felt approachable instead of just the "cute guy I always see around but never talk to."For the next few months, we had small conversations about all sorts of things: the Lord, serving in student ministry, the gym, our families, work, and school. After a few weeks of talking a little more intentionally, he asked me out on a Sunday after church and (of course) I said yes!Our first date was on Saturday, April 8th, 2023. My favorite part was sitting at House of Pies, talking for hours over a single piece of Texas Pecan Fudge pie and two Diet Cokes, sharing everything about our lives and bragging on how faithful our Father had been to us. We stayed in that booth until 12am, which quickly became 3am, which eventually lead to driving straight from House of Pies to the Easter sunrise service at 6:30am on the 9th (I have no idea how we stayed awake for that service but this is photo proof...). We ended up hanging out all of that day too, somehow managing to keep coming up with more to talk about and things do together (oh, young love... I don't think I crashed until about 10pm that night).As we continued to grow closer, seeing Ethan's deep love for Christ - for loving and sharing Him with the lost and worshiping Him in everything he did - really is what made me fall in love with him. Ethan is someone you can't help but smile around; he makes people feel comfortable and seen. If you've ever done ministry with him, you know his passion for pointing to his Savior in all things is unmatched.In the last three years, through my best seasons and worst seasons, he's pushed and challenged me when I needed it, but also been the sweetest support and shoulder to cry on when I've just needed to breathe. Ethan takes the BEST care of me - I have many friends that love him and a family that trusts him who can stand behind that statement.After two and a half years of incredible memories, our dating season came to an end... on October 12th, 2025, Ethan asked me to be his wife. I am so, so excited and ready for this new season to begin.Ethan, I've never been one to believe in "The One," but I think God had you in mind the moment He created me. I can't wait to be yours forever. I LOVE YOU!

Holly's story

Honestly, I can't remember much about Holly growing up. We were always in the same student ministry, but never in the same circle. Now we look back and tell stories of little encounters or missed opportunities to talk to each other, but nothing that I remember well. I think our stories start in a similar place. At a retreat in October 2022. Our first conversation, a silly one about Planet Fitness and the gym in general. A conversation that at the time I didn't take note of. It wasn't until January 2023 that this story starts up again. A time where I thought to myself "yeah I'm ready to start dating again". So, I started looking for three things. One, a girl who loved the Lord with her whole heart. Two, a girl who I enjoyed being around. And three, a girl who I found attractive. It didn’t take much searching to find Holly, and the more I got to know her, the more I realized that she didn’t just meet my expectations, she exceeded every one of them. Then I started crushing hard. I even remember watching her lead worship, thinking to myself "I'm going to marry that girl." To which I said back to myself "WOAH, you GOTTA slow down." But hey, I wasn't wrong. Then after a lot of messaging and talking I asked her out. I continued to get to know her. Her testimony, her life, the things she loves and the things that frustrate her. Over the past three years I've been overwhelmingly blessed to get to know Holly. To get to see her devotion to Jesus. To see loving sacrifice demonstrated for me. To see overwhelming kindness. As I got to know her I watched my affection toward her turn into genuine love. Then after lots of waiting I was able to ask Holly to marry me beside the water where I first told her that I loved her. Holly, I can't wait to marry you and chase after the Lord with you for the rest of my days. I love you so much &lt;3
