I always found myself daydreaming about how I would meet “the one”. I would imagine various “meet cute” situations like you would see in your run-of-the-mill romantic comedy.

However, I never imagined I’d truly have such a sweet story to tell. After spending 5 months on a whirlwind study abroad trip, I return to be the Maid of Honor in a friend from middle and high school. I remember being slightly nervous because I didn’t know anyone else in the wedding party. I just said a prayer and hoped that some of the people were friendly.

Well, it didn’t take very long after arriving at the wedding rehearsal to realize that the friendliest person of all was the Best Man (aka Harrison). Fortunately for our love story, the Best Man and Maid of Honor are stuck together most of the wedding day and I feel like we spent the majority of the day talking. It was definitely clear we had a connection and actually had a lot in common. I left the wedding at the end of the night squealing to my friend in the phone because I had been asked out on my very first date!

After asking if we could take a month to talk and really get to know each other (sorry Harrison lol) we made it official and haven’t looked back since! Our time together had been comprised of hanging out on UK’s campus, taking trips together, going to Lake Cumberland, baking sessions, and of course, LOTS of movies.

When he popped the question- in Disney World, of course- I undoubtedly knew my answer would be yes. This has truly been the happiest season of my life and the vast majority of that would be thanks to Harrison and the way he has loved me so well! We often sit back and thank God for bringing us together. It’s crazy to think that we had been in such close proximity to each other for years and somehow never met. It shouldn’t be too much of a surprise though since God’s timing is perfect and He knew exactly when to bring us together.

I cannot wait to see what the Lord has in store for us as we enter this next phase of life together.❤️

Ps. I would ask Harrison to contribute to our story but I’m pretty sure he would just say he knew I was the one since he found out I liked Star Wars. 😉
