Everybody has a love story, but not everyone has one quite as magical as Hope and Hagen. They met when Hope was ten years old, and Hagen was twelve at 4H camp. The minute Hagen laid his eyes on her, he knew that she was the girl he would marry one day, so he asked her to dance. They spent the rest of camp as boyfriend and girlfriend, and on the way home Hagen even asked for Hopes number. He thought of all the things he could say to really impress her, and decided on “Hey, I lost my number, can I borrow yours?” which, to no ones surprise, worked pretty well.
Though this camp relationship was short lived, their friendship was not. They stayed friends for seven years, never losing contact. They even met for dinner once, thats the day she realized how much she cared about him. They didn’t truly find their way back to each other until January of 2022, when Hope reached out to Hagen on New Years. Hagen took Hope to Red Lobster on their first date where they talked about their future together the same way they did back when they were kids. They started dating on January 10th, and have been together ever since. They spent the next year traveling back and forth from Carney to Okemah and seeing each other every chance they got. Never missing a date night and constantly excited to be around each other.
A little over a year after they started dating they bought their first home on March 8th, 2023 and hit the road together. They moved 588 miles from home and started their journey in New Mexico. They spent the next few months traveling between New Mexico, Oklahoma, and even spent some time in Wyoming before finally decided to come back home for a little while.
Then, for Hopes nineteenth birthday Hagen had a gift that would top all others. He proposed. He set up what is now one of the most important and memorable days in their entire relationship. He invited both of their families and some friends to a birthday party for Hope, and made sure that everyone was able to experience the magical moment. When Hope was surrounded by the people that she loved most, and ready to cut her birthday cake, Hagen knelt down on one knee and asked her to marry him. This was the easiest yes of Hopes entire life.
