how we met 

It all started with a gum wrapper 

Thomas and Hope were in the same pre-calculus class together. Hope started to ask Thomas for help and answers on the homework because she had a C in the class, while he had an A+. Whenever Thomas explained the boring math equations to Hope, she paid much more attention to him! Slowly, the two became casual friends, and Hope would drive him home from school sometimes. They discovered that they used to ride the same school bus, but never really interacted. One day, Hope needed a fun date to the prom, so she slipped him a piece of gum in math class that said "prom?" on the wrapper. Surprisingly, he nodded his head in agreement!

On April 19th, 2019, Thomas asked Hope to be his girlfriend at Smith Park in Brentwood, TN. They had no idea how long this relationship would last!

College

While Hope was going to school at UT Knoxville, Thomas would visit and FaceTime her all the time! 2020 was a rough year, but they still managed to have some fun.

Thomas is finally at UT Knoxville with Hope! Life is so fun, and everything is right in the world.

 Three Years in Knoxville Together 

Now, Hope is attending East Tennessee State University to pursue a Master's degree in Speech Pathology. Thomas is finishing up at UT Knoxville, but they are still able to visit each other often!

the end of an era 

Thomas surprised Hope with a trip to Sedona, AZ and the Grand Canyon. He wouldn’t tell her any plans, and she just had to go with the flow. On June 24th, 2024, he proposed to her at the Grand Canyon during sunset! Their parents flew in from Nashville to celebrate with them afterwards. What a big surprise!

Hope's bestie since birth. She is Hope's biggest role model and girl boss.

Hope and Ava met in high school, and they have been inseparable since. Pretty sure they are related!

Ava Hapgood 

Hope's long time bestie. They met in middle school on their competitive dance team, worked four jobs together, and were even freshman roommates. 

Cary-Ashlin Massey 

Hope's dancing queen! The two met in high school and share a love for working with kids, dancing, and eating ice cream. 

Addisyn Fox 

Hope and Lauren met in middle school, and became besties over the years! They danced, ran track, and did Best Buddies together.

Lauren Smith

Hope's college bestie! Helen and Hope met freshman year of college in their sorority, AOII, and went on to be roommates for three years! They are both in SLP grad school. 

Helen McCall 

Sophie and Hope met in college, and instantly became besties! They were both in AOII together and lived with Helen for three years. She is also an SLP grad school warrior.

Meghan is Hope's very first best friend. They met on the swim team when they were six years old! Meg is a ray of sunshine.

Katie is Thomas' sister and Hope's future sister in law! They met when Katie was 12 years old.

Southall Meadows is a modern farm wedding and event venue located south of Nashville, TN. The venue features a modern event hall and 100-year-old tobacco barn. The property sits on 200+ acres of country views surrounded by rolling hills and the West Harpeth River.

Formal Garden Party 

The suggested attire is Garden Party Formal. The ceremony and parts of the cocktail hour will be taking place outdoors, so we suggest wearing something that is comfortable for May weather. Ladies, please wear comfortable shoes as there will be some walking in grass and pea gravel. Spring colors and patterns are welcome.
