You never know where you'll find love... For Hunter and Sophie, it was in the local grocery store over some dusty wine shelves. Working for competitor companies, Hunter and Sophie sold wine against each other in one of their top accounts (Sophie will now admit that Hunter kicked her butt in that store).

Sophie had just moved to Austin and Hunter, being an Austin native, knew all cool local spots to woo her over. ACL was around the corner and Sophie was going for her first time. She had asked Hunter tons of questions about it and told him that they should meet up at the festival, Hunter agreed. After many ACL conversations, Hunter did not get the hint... Finally, Sophie took matters into her own hands and told him that it would be really hard to meet up if he didn't have her phone number.

After FINALLY exchanging phone numbers, the two went on numerous dates. They went to some of their favorite Austin spots, Pinthouse, Loro, Almo Drafthouse, The Domain, etc.

Although seriously attracted to the handsome "wine guy" down the HEB aisle, Sophie was not in any rush to have a boyfriend in her new city. She tried to play hard to get. It worked... for a little.

About 6 months into her time in Austin... Covid hit. Wine vendors were OBVIOUSLY considered to be essential workers, so the two still bumped into each other daily with lots of flirting. Feeling like they were doing something illegal during the pandemic, Hunter would drive down to Sophie's apartment on the East Side and the two would get to know each other over good food and wine, their love for lacrosse, cards and laughs.

Still just friends 8mo later... in May 2020 Hunter laid down the law. He didn't want to waste his time if this wasn't going anywhere. Without hesitation Sophie told him how she really felt about him.

May 23rd 2020, Hunter asked Sophie to be his girlfriend. They fell in love quickly and the two were inseparable. The rest was history.
