<p>After a year of being in the same medical school class, Hunter and Kristina officially met at an end of block 5 pool party. Kristina was crouching behind a chair to get something out of her bag, looked up, and saw the deepest, bluest eyes she'd ever seen. About a month later, Hunter and Kristina were the only two single people at a mutual friend's Halloween party. They hit it off and started spending every afternoon and evening together. They easily stayed up talking until 1 AM (even on school nights...). During that time, Hunter would bring Kristina coffee or a treat every single morning and would set it on her desk before she arrived. They FINALLY (says Hunter) started dating in November of 2022. Over the next year and a half, their relationship continued to blossom, and deepen. On Hunter's birthday, March 16, 2024, he proposed! Kristina was convinced it was going to happen Easter weekend when his family was in town. They went out to an unassuming favorite Italian restaurant (under the guise of her brother REALLY wanting chicken parmesan). Hunter led her to the patio where he had a table with roses and candles set up, got down on one knee, and asked her to marry him. Their love for each other and the Lord have grown even more during their engagement. They are so excited to celebrate with everyone on their wedding day!</p>

Kristina and Darya met during freshman year of college at UAB in the University Honors Program. Both neuroscience majors and budding physicians, they found a common love for everything college and honors program related...just kidding. They became friends through joking around and not paying attention to poetry lectures in the back of the classroom. They lived together junior and senior year of college and their friendship has continued to grow during their time in medical school. Early on in their friendship, they promised they'd make each other their maids of honor and, now, here we are.

Kristina was in need of a roommate sophomore year of college and along came Morgan, who also happened to be a sorority sister. Both lovers of all things cat related, they felt it was a good match. Over the course of the next year, they went from mere acquaintances to the best of friends. Many fond memories were made that year and beyond. The fondest memories, though, came about fighting a potential ghost in their dorm who really liked knocking stuff off the walls. Kristina was Morgan's maid of honor and thought it fitting to have Morgan as her matron of honor.

Kristina and Ashley met at Samford University's MD Calling camp way back in 2014. Ashley mentioned track and field and Kristina, being a track athlete, knew they would be friends. Over the course of a few days, they went from total strangers to best friends for life. They eventually also became sorority sisters when Kristina joined the UAB chapter of Alpha Xi Delta. Kristina stood by Ashley's side as she married the love of her life and felt honored to have Ashley do the same for her.

Alexis and Kristina met during the first week of medical school. Kristina needed a seat in class and her roommate set her water bottle down at a random open seat...next to Alexis. Alexis saw Kristina's Our Lady of Guadalupe sticker on her laptop and it was all over. They were instantly best friends. Kristina, Alexis, and Caroline made a group chat that has been through many names (including, but not limited to, chain gang(lia), burnt cookies, and senioritis) and so much love and support has been shared there. Kristina wouldn't have made it through med school without Alexis and counts herself lucky to have Alexis by her side on her wedding day. 

Alexis Colley

Caroline and Kristina met during the first week of medical school as well because Caroline was sitting next to Alexis. Over the next two years, their friendship blossomed. Caroline's instagram even became Kristina's fan page, well, because Kristina did a lot of dumb, funny stuff during med school. Through the aforementioned group text, seeing Taylor Swift together, and double dating to see Bert Kreischer's "The Machine," Kristina and Caroline became best friends. Kristina could not imagine her wedding without Caroline by her side. 

Caroline Rodriguez

Kristina and Molly met through, of all things, hockey. After spending time together and discovering their mutual love for all things cars, Formula 1, and mechanics, they knew they'd be the best of friends. Molly has been a rock through tough situations and has become more of a sister than a friend. Molly and her husband also make really good food so that's part of the reason Kristina is friends with her (this is kind of a joke but also very true. They make delicious food). Kristina is overjoyed to have Molly stand next to her on her wedding day.

Jonathan is Kristina's brother and became one of Hunter's best friends. His hilarious antics also brought about Kristina, Alexis, and Caroline's group chat name during renal/GI block, PeepeePoopoo. Jonathan even went so far as to tell Kristina that she better not lose Hunter because he would absolutely choose him over her.
