Hunter and I met at a Halloween party in 2022. I was invited through my best friend, Julia, and he was invited through his roommate, Hayden. Hayden and Julia were getting married and they wanted the wedding party members to meet. I was dressed as Waluigi and he was dressed as Spike Spiegel from Cowboy Bebop. Funnily enough, Hunter was supposed to be set up with one of the other girls at the party. I obviously threw a wrench in those plans. We clicked from the very beginning and Hayden and Julia began devising a way to set us up.

We met at other parties now and then, but it was not until Valentine's Day 2023 that Hunter made his move. I was eating breakfast and I heard a knock on my door. I opened the door to Hayden with a dozen roses and my favorite candy. I assumed it was from Julia as a bridesmaid gift, but I was informed they were from Hunter! We began talking every day from then.

I was a bit hesitant to start dating Hunter as there were still a few months until our friends' wedding and I did not want to bring drama to the wedding in case we did not work out.

...That lasted less than a month. We started dating on March 12th, 2023. And by Julia and Hayden's wedding in May of 2023, we were still going very strong. We even got to walk down the aisle with each other (practice for the future!).

Fast forward to December of that year, Hunter and I go on a trip with my parents and brother to Gatlinburg, Tennessee. We had just started to ring shop before the trip, but we were not ready for that yet. Off of the main street in Gatlinburg is a small shopping center. Within that shopping center is an adorable foot bridge. I saw the foot bridge and led a confused Hunter up to it. I stopped us at the top, turned around, and jokingly said, "Okay, I'm ready. You can propose now." We both had a good laugh about it. See below of a picture of us on said bridge in December 2023.

Two months later in February, we had done more ring shopping. Hunter suggested we go on "practice dates" so he could keep me in suspense about when he would propose. The next month, we went back to Gatlinburg with my family. On March 20th, we spent the entire day on the top of the mountain. We went on a ski lift, rode a mountain coaster, rock climbed, and ice skated.

After the end of a long day we came down from the mountain and Hunter suggested we go by the same shopping center from December. We shopped around a little bit and I led him back to the foot bridge. We get to the top of the bridge, I turned to him and said, "Okay, I'm ready. You can propose now." And that's when Hunter got down on one knee and proposed to me. I of course said yes. Slick guy had planned this and had the ring in his pocket the entire day!
