Hunter & McKenna met on the Christian dating app Upward on June 28, 2023. Both swore they didn't swipe right. Hunter was 3 years older than McKenna's app filters, and Hunter didn't want someone so far away. This is where God's plan started to come into focus...

Hunter was volunteering at a youth camp in Utah and she was working in Wyoming at the time. One FaceTime 2 1/2 weeks later and he decided to drive up to Pinedale, WY to visit. At the end of the visit they decided to give dating a shot. They dated long distance from July 23, 2023 until November 23. 2023.

McKenna went back to college in August after a visit down to Utah to meet his family. She eventually began driving the 5 hours down to Utah from college every other weekend starting in October. Spending as many as 12 hours a day on the phone, they got to know each other really well.

When McKenna went down to Utah for Thanksgiving, Hunter proposed, and they set a date in December. McKenna went back to college to finish her semester and pack to move down to Utah.

They got married on December 20, 2023!
