Our story, written by Lauryn...

Hunter and I met at church! Little did I know that when I walked into my church doors on a mid-spring day last April that I would meet this thoughtfully kind, dashingly handsome, and spontaneously adventurous guy that would capture my heart.

That Sunday, I sang on our worship team and I completely messed up an entrance to a song. Well...when I did and laughed at myself, I looked up and my eyes caught those of this tall, curly-headed cute guy at the back of the church and I realized that he was laughing along with me. I loved that.

And that moment, we connected. My eyes crinkled and my heart skipped several beats as it beamed from within my chest. We chatted after church, and then to my extreme delight, he messaged me less than an hour later asking if I would like to go on a hike. And the way he got my number? He searched for me in our church directory!

Of course, I responded that yes, I would absolutely love to go on a hike. And so we went...and that hike lead to dinner and many, many more dates after that. From movies to hikes, to walks with his yellow-lab Nash, to dinners with my family, and then later, to flights to visit his family in Arkansas, we have spent hours together and traveled many miles in the midst of getting to know each other.

I not only found myself falling in love with this man who brought such joy and adventure and smiles into my life, but I also found myself hoping that this man would want to spend his life with me as much as I dreamed of spending my life with him.

And so, fast forward a few months, and on a trip to visit his family for New Year's in Arkansas, he asked me to marry him. And I said yes.

Our first date was a hike through the fields of Cashmere in Washington, my home state, and he proposed on a hike in the beauty of the Ozark mountains in his home state - such a picture of how two lives from two states in far across corners, intersected in a way that only God could make possible.
