It started with a swipe...okay maybe three! From Tinder, to Bumble, to Coffee Meets Bagel, we couldn't "like" or "heart" each other enough.

Their love story begins at the most extravagant and expensive restaurant in the Tulsa-Metro Area, Chuy’s. They shared their first kiss under the Chuy’s neon sign. From that time, for three years, Eastman and Hunter would have to endure the dreaded long-distance relationship. It was only made possible through nighttime face-times, spontaneous trips to California and Oklahoma, and visits that they both wished were longer.

As Hunter finished her doctorate degree in clinical psychology, Eastman was finishing his second degree to get into law school and eventually getting in.

God blessed them, as an opportunity for Hunter to move to Oklahoma City for her last year was provided to her for internship!

FINALLY! They would be able to see each other every day and finally end the dreaded face-times and fleeting weekend visits.

After a year of being together finally in person, Eastman devised his plan to ask Hunter for her hand.

It was a devious and romantic plan! He elected the help of literally everyone, like everyone. He told everyone his plan of asking her in Hawaii, on Oahu at Haiku Gardens where his parents were married in 1986. The deception came in as the Holloway, Harwood, and Bennett families actively lied to Hunter having her believe that Brenda and Big Eastman would be going to Hawaii with them (which meant that Eastman would not be proposing to her because she repeatedly told him that she wanted it to be just the two of them). Brenda would talk to Hunter about all the fun things they would do together in Hawaii. Eastman and Hunter boarded their flight in Oklahoma City, and Hunter believed that the Holloways would be flying out from Dallas. However, when they landed for their connecting flight in Las Vegas, Eastman received a call that his parents “missed their flight!!” OH NO, Eastman and Hunter would be in Hawaii all alone for an evening! Thankfully, Hunter still believed that they would be arriving on the island the next day.

On the day of the engagement, Eastman told Hunter that he was going to pick up his parents at the airport. However, what really was happening was that his friend Jorden Corpuz was picking him up and driving him to Haiku Gardens, while Darby Davidson, was picking Hunter up to “go to brunch” when she was really also driving her to Haiku Gardens.

As Eastman and Jorden arrived at the gardens, Eastman was laughing and talking with Jorden. They talked about how exciting it was, and how Eastman would definitely get super serious and stressed right when he saw Hunter walking down to the garden. Meanwhile, Darby and Hunter were enjoying their tropical drive to the gardens, and Hunter was still unaware of the engagement, telling Darby how cool it was that they were eating at the place where the Holloways got married.

When Hunter and Darby arrived at the gardens, Hunter started to get suspicious as the restaurant was closed and no one was in the parking lot. As they slowly walked down the pathway to the garden, Hunter started to see a super handsome guy in a white shirt, (that she totally ironed and had no clue why she needed to) and she finally started to realize this was the moment! She turned to Darby and said "Is that Eastman? Girl, here?! Girl, am I getting engaged?!" As she approached the alter, she could hear the ukulele of Mr. Jorden playing "I Can't Help Falling in Love with You" by the greatest king of rock-and-roll, Elvis Presley. Eastman immediately asked her to marry him without any mushy gushy speech because he was too nervous. Then he chilled out to actually say some lifelong love affirmations before he placed the ring on her finger. And just like that, they are engaged and now are at this beautiful moment in their lives.

WEDDING PLANNING! HAHA, WHAT A JOKE RIGHT?! Like this is totally stressful and we are now ready just to be married. But for real, if you are still reading at this point thanks for loving us and caring about our journey. We have met and loved so many people in our lives and we are so happy to have you be a part of our wedding!
