Hussain had visited his family in New Jersey many times over the past few years, but little did he know that his future wife was only a half hour away. By a stroke of luck, and with the help of their local “Sima Aunties,” Hussain was introduced to Zainab. It only took a few text messages before they were off to the races - literally, their first date was go-karting!

It didn’t take long for them to realize they were the perfect match. From their first painting class together, to their five seconds of fame on the Tonight Show, they never shied away from an opportunity to be front and center for a new experience. While they have their own hobbies and passions, they also continue to deepen their relationship by supporting each other’s interests. Whether it’s Hussain tagging along to a Fall Out Boy concert or Zainab being Hussain’s back up singer for one too many karaoke nights!

Choosing your life partner is one of the most important decisions you can make in life and Hussain knew Zainab was the one. With the help of her sisters, he flew to New Jersey on February 17th, 2024 and surprised her with a secret proposal. Spoiler: She said YES!!

Soon after, they learned that they would have the opportunity to have their Nikah performed by His Holiness Aqa Moula TUS. In a whirlwind of events, both families made the long journey to Colombo, Sri Lanka to become one big Indian family :)

Now, Zainab and Hussain prepare for their new life together in Minneapolis. Zainab will be starting law school and Hussain will be pursuing a career in Interventional Cardiology. As they start this exciting new chapter of their lives, they know they have each other to tackle every adventure that comes their way.
