Hwijin and Sehee first met at church in the autumn of 2018 in Cupertino. While they were very platonic and Sehee was thinking they were good friends, Hwijin, on the other hand, didn't think of Sehee as his good friend. Rather, he thought she was cute.

However, Hwijin went off to college to San Diego while Sehee stayed in San Jose where she started her career.

Fast forward to the summer of 2021, Hwijin was visiting his friends in San Jose. Hwijin spotted a wild Sehee in a restaurant, but was too shy to say hello for it had been too long. Nonetheless, he messaged her saying he saw her and planned for a light dinner.

At the dinner, they had a very nice platonic time with one another.

A few days later, Hwijin asked Sehee to Half Moon Bay.

After which, Sehee asked Hwijin how many kids he wants. After which Hwijin asked her to the movies, which became their first date.
