indree & Indree

August 20, 2022 • Snoqualmie, WA

Indree and Danny’s love began at Bayside High School in 1993. Through the double dates, the parties, and the dances (even cramming for a midterm until three), they persevered and eventually decided to go steady--despite Danny’s friend AC trying to keep them apart.

Wait, that’s Saved by the Bell. Indree and Danny’s story began on an up-and-coming fad called the internet; more specifically on the dating app Hinge. Danny stumbled across Indree’s profile and noticed she attended the ESPYs. “She must like sports, and she’s beautiful,” he thought. “She will be mine. Oh yes, she will be mine.”

Danny turned on the charm and sent the first message. A bold move, to say the least. “Hey, do you work for ESPN?” he asked. “No, I went to the party with a friend,” she replied.

Despite the crushing disappointment of losing out on a lifetime of courtside Lakers tickets and sharing basketball takes with Stephen A. Smith, the conversation continued. They had a connection.

Eventually they met up. Breaking from the mold of boring ol’ first date cliches, they convened for coffee at a local Starbucks. Indree ordered tea. Danny--experiencing first-date jitters--panicked and ordered the same (he really wanted a Macchiato). Despite Danny’s nerves, he soon felt at ease around Indree.

Some time after that came a second date, then a third and even a fourth. Despite the craziness, trials, tragedies, and global pandemic that unfolded in the turbulent years to follow, they found solace in one another. Where there was sadness and grief, they found a warm smile and a welcome hug. Where there was stress and frustration, they found encouraging words and a hand to hold through unpredictable times.

Danny asked for Indree’s hand in marriage on a cold and rainy night in Seattle (shocker). At dinner, with his mom and dad looking on, he got down on one knee and pretended to tie his shoe. However, there was a different knot Danny intended to tie.

Little did Indree know, his shoes were tied the whole time and he eventually popped the question. Although she never officially said yes, she teared up and gave Danny a hug. Danny just assumed that meant “yes," and he was right.

Danny’s dad gave him a firm handshake and said. “Congratulations, son.” Danny’s mom cried. Despite the mix of emotions on display at Chinook’s Seafood Restaurant that evening, the message was clear: two best friends get to spend their lives together.

We welcome you to the first day of forever.

Indree and Danny couldn't be happier to have their wedding set for August in beautiful Seattle, a city that means so much to both of them. They look forward to celebrating with all their friends and family and continuing the crazy journey of life together.

Let’s rage.
