Village/Textile Tour (3 hours):

Meet at Hotel Casa Santo Domingo for a guided tour of Antigua’s surrounding villages. A short drive takes you to spectacular views of the valley at the Convent/museum of the Archbishop’s Palace in San Juan del Obispo followed by a scenic ride through pueblos and coffee plantations to the Maya town of San Antonio Aguas Calientes. Enjoy an expert presentation on traditional Maya textiles at Carolina’s weaving cooperative – famous for some of the best textiles – with time for shopping. Return to Antigua.

Iximche Ruins Visit (3-4 hours):

Daily | 8am to 12pm upon request

9:30am Guided visit to the ruins to talk about the Maya calendar, the Maya ball game and history about this fortress-city (Admission included)

Lake Atitlan Tour (Full Day):

5:30am Shared shuttle from your hotel in Antigua to Panajachel (2 ½ hours).

8:00am Breakfast in Panajachel

9:00am Meet your guide for a guided boat ride visiting San Juan La Laguna and Santiago Atitlan. (Free time for lunch on your own in Santiago Atitlan – take cash as few places accept credit cards on the lake).

4:00pm Shared shuttle from Panajachel to your hotel in Antigua (2 ½ hours).

Private Volcano Climb of Pacaya (6 hours):

Daily | Any time from 6:30am to 1pm (1pm latest departure time – 6-hour trip)

Enjoy private transportation from your hotel in Antigua to the Pacaya Volcano National Park entrance where you meet your Pacaya National Park guide and begin a 1 ½ hr. hike up the volcano. Watch results of the recent eruptions and the volcano smoking. Experience incredible views. Hike back down and drive to your hotel in Antigua. Wear long pants and good shoes. Please advise of any food allergies for the box lunches.

Tikal One-Day Tour (Full Day):

3:00am Shared shuttle from your hotel in Antigua to the GUA airport in Guatemala City. Check-in at TAG Airlines.

5:45am One hour flight TG110 with TAG to FRS airport

7:00am Meet the Explore driver at the airport exit for a shared shuttle to Tikal, admission to park included. Observation of the scale model of Tikal and start your tour visiting: Complex Q and R, Temples I, II, III and IV, Plaza Central, Central and North Acropolis and Plaza del Mundo Perdido. Lunch inside Tikal National Park (beverages and tip not included).

3:30pm Shared shuttle to the FRS airport. Check-in at TAG. Pay Q20 airport exit fee.

5:05pm Flight TG151 with TAG to the GUA airport in Guatemala City.

6:05pm Arrival at the Guatemala City international airport. A driver will be waiting for you at the only airport exit. Shared shuttle to your hotel in Antigua.
