Clothes! Preferably clean. What matters most to us is having you there. We just want you to look nice and be comfortable doing it!
What shoes would be best?
Due to the venue layout and various ground types, the short answer is practical. There will be grass, gravel, and the barn has horse shavings for a floor. Stilettos probably aren’t a great choice, but we won’t judge if you wear them anyway!
Help, I can’t find a registry!
It doesn’t exist. We’ve built our life and our home and really don’t need material items. If you feel the need to bring or send a gift, please make it a donation item for animals in need. We support several wonderful organizations for all types of animals, so please feel free to ask if you’d like a recommendation. A gift table will be available if you opt to bring a physical gift for the animals instead.
What’s the best way to get there?
Personally, we recommend interstate 81 southbound. It’s about 7.5 hours from Pennsylvania, based on your starting point. Hotel blocks are right off it, and the venue is about 25 minutes from the hotel. If flying is really more your style, see the travel section for airport recommendations and prepare for a layover.
What’s the sleeping situation?
We have blocked of hotels at Hampton Inn, Quality Inn, and Fairfield so you can pick based on your favorite hotel rewards. If you’re feeling like nature is calling, there are several state parks that offer camping within a 45 minute drive. Warrior’s Path in TN and Natural Tunnel in VA.
The race! When is the race!?
We worried too, but fret not! The NASCAR race is September 21. That said, if you’re interested, we would love to have you here for the week! There’s plenty of things to do in the area, and there’s at least 30% chance we won’t put you to work on wedding stuff.
Is there other stuff to do if we make a whole weekend of it?
The greater Tri Dolly Area (Sevierville, Pigeon Forge, and Gatlinburg) are an easy 1.5ish hour drive from the area, depending what city and activity you pick. Knoxville is about 1 hour 45 minutes, depending on what traffic you may hit. Bristol and Johnson City have lots of fun little shops and breweries to explore. Asheville, NC is also an hour and a half over the mountains, and has plenty to offer.
