How We Met
Like many good love stories, ours began with a little bit of chaos and a lot of corgi.
Years before we ever spoke, Irene met Puffy at a student event hosted by FTSANE. She got to say hi to the fluffy corgi who stole her heart instantly—but somehow, she never actually met Leo that day. Puffy, it seems, left a bigger impression.
A few years later, when Irene decided she was ready to have a corgi of her own, she reached out to Tony, one of the event staff members who had invited her to join the student event back then. She asked if he could share Leo's contact information, hoping Leo might know a good breeder. Tony connected them, and Irene sent Leo a message asking for help.
And then… nothing. Leo completely missed the message for a week. By the time he finally saw it, Irene had already found a breeder on her own and brought Gordon home—proof that when something is meant to be, it finds a way, even when someone forgets to check their messages.
But fate wasn't done with us yet. It was during the COVID days that our story really started to unfold. What began as a few casual messages slowly turned into longer conversations, shared jokes, and late‑night chats. In July, we finally met in person for our very first date—and of course, Puffy and Gordon came along. That day, the two corgis met for the first time, and so did the two humans who would eventually build a life together. Turns out, Puffy knew all along.
Not long after, Irene got a job in Boston. When Gordon was six months old, she packed up and moved, and that's when our "long chats" turned into everyday life—walks, meals, cuddles on the couch, and a new home filled with fur, laughter, and a lot of dog hair.
Life with Dogs (and a Cat Who Thinks He’s a Corgi)
From the very beginning, our relationship has revolved around the four little paws trotting beside us. We poured our hearts into training Puffy and Gordon, spending weekends at parks, on trails, and in new places, always looking for the next adventure we could share with them.
In 2022, we loaded up the car—two corgis, plenty of snacks, and way too much luggage—and drove from Massachusetts all the way to Los Angeles and back. That cross‑country road trip became one of our favorite chapters: long drives, new cities, quiet hotel nights with the pups snoring at our feet, and a shared feeling that no matter where we were, we were home as long as we were together.
When we returned from that journey, our little family grew again. We adopted our first kitty, Katsu, from MSPCA. Katsu quickly decided he wasn’t “just” a cat; he started following Puffy and Gordon everywhere, joining in on walks, playtime, and travel plans. Everyone jokes that he thinks he’s one of the corgis—and honestly, we agree. Now, wherever we go, it’s the five of us, off on the next adventure.
The Proposal
After about three years of shared routines, road trips, and countless moments that felt quietly perfect, Leo decided it was time to ask one very important question. He planned a special getaway to Saratoga Springs and, of course, brought Puffy, Gordon, and Katsu along for the ride.
To give Irene a little treat—and to buy himself some secret setup time—Leo booked a surprise facial appointment for her. While she relaxed and got pampered, he was busy decorating the proposal spot and making sure everything was exactly how he imagined.
That evening, over dinner, Leo brought out flowers, then a cake, and finally, a ring. In that warm, happy little restaurant, surrounded by strangers who quickly became part of the moment, Irene said yes. The whole room joined in with smiles and good wishes, and it felt like the world paused for just a second to celebrate with us.
Now, with Puffy, Gordon, and Katsu by our side, we’re so excited to begin this next chapter—and we’re incredibly grateful that you’ll be there to share it with us.
