It all `started one rainy day in June in Michigan, USA, when a cute moustached British man messaged a girl on snapchat. Neither were really looking for love, maybe more of a connection with someone across the globe. But then.....

Irene (the author) and Philip quickly learned each other quirks, likes, dislikes and sense of humours. Pretty fast we realized this was something special.

After 5 months of talking all day and everyday Philip took the leap to come visit the USA in November 2022. After one week we KNEW it was real, and started talking about meeting again as soon as we could. Philip took that seriously and came back 3 months later to visit America.

We knew after that trip that we didn't want to spend anymore time apart. So I decided to move to Cornwall, UK for 6 months in Spring of 2023.

The 6 Months was glorious and full of love with each other, friends and family, but it was as much time as I was allowed legally in the country. Philip returned to the states with me for 3 months where we lived with my 98 year old grandmother, The three of us had a blast! (best roommates ever!)

Philip had to return to the UK after 3 months because of Americas policy with visas, I remained in America and worked to save money up to return to the UK.

Philip, his mother, and father visited America during the 4th of July holiday 2024. Philip and I showed them around my hometown of Escanaba and the rest of the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.

I came back to Cornwall December 11th 2024, and Philip proposed to me in front of Big Ben in London (my favorite monument of all time) It was very sweet and romantic and totally unexpected. (I didn't even have my nails done haha)

Now we are HERE, present day, hoping you can all make it to celebrate this love and bond Philip and I have developed in this crazy journey.
