It all began on a warm summer night in Barcelona. Sanna and Isaac were on a work trip traveling through Spain when they met for the first time. Isaac had just moved to Denver and didn’t know too many people in the city. One of their coworkers introduced them (shout out Kellie!!) and they spent the rest of the night along with other coworkers drinking wine and dancing. Isaac’s original thought on Sanna was that she was fairly quiet and shy (he notes that this is the only time he has ever had this thought since).

But that’s not where the love story starts. Sanna told Isaac to come into the Denver office and then didn’t show up for the next 4 months… And when Isaac went up to her to say hi when she did finally show up – she barely remembered him. After hanging outside of work playing pool with coworkers, they went on their first date. It was supposed to be a short hike for a couple hours (what else do you do for a first date in Colorado?), but turned into a whole day affair. They decided to stop in Boulder and Sanna told Isaac she wanted to stop in “one of her favorite boutiques around the corner”, but in reality she surprised him with a trip to the record store. The day turned to night, which turned into early morning including many drinks and more intense games of pool (Sanna wants the record to state that she is still better at pool than Isaac).

Sanna told Isaac he had to wait 24 hours to ask her to hang out again, which in Isaac’s mind meant 24 seconds. From that point on, Sanna and Isaac spent almost every day together – going to the mountains and concerts, biking around the city, cooking together, and playing various intramural sports. They officially started dating March 26th, 2023. As the weeks and months passed they both started to realize that this was more than just a fun fling. Isaac, a hopeless romantic, told Sanna he loved her for the first time in an Uber in a McDonalds drive thru at 1am – true love. Isaac’s lease was up in May and Sanna, even with her severe cat allergies, took a leap of faith and asked him and the cats to move in with her (Isaac knew then that she must really love him to do that). The rest is truly history.

Throughout the rest of the year they fell deeper in love. They traveled across the world from California to Texas, Florida to Finland. They shared birthdays, holidays and priceless memories together. They moved into a house. They met and equally fell in love with each other’s families. Both of them knew early on that this was it for them – that they wanted to spend the rest of their lives together. When you know, you know. On January 28th, Isaac asked Sanna to marry him at Arapahoe Basin mountain. It was a beautiful, sunny day on the slopes and as their friends went to lunch, they said they would catch up after one more run. Isaac (snowboarding) and Sanna (skiing) were going through a treacherous tree run when Isaac stopped abruptly, sinking them both knee deep in powder. As Sanna was digging herself out, Isaac got on one knee and popped the question – she said yes!

From Isaac & Sanna - Words don’t even begin to describe how excited we are to get married surrounded by all of our loved ones and the mountains (of course) in one of our favorite places in the world, Telluride, Colorado! When we met each other and started dating last year, we knew that this would be something special and to see all of that culminate with our wedding day is surreal. We are so incredibly blessed and cannot wait to see you all in September!
