How we meet

Picture of How we meet

Our story isn’t quite your typical boy-meets-girl—it’s got a little twist of camouflage and fate.

We officially met through a mutual friend, who thought it would be a great idea to bring me along turkey hunting. That’s right—the very first time I met Isaac, we were sitting in the woods, trying not to make a sound, bundled up in camo (well maybe I was the only one bundled up). Not exactly your average “first meeting,” but hey, it worked! Somewhere between the quiet moments and the unexpected company, something just clicked.

The first time Isaac and I ever hung out one-on-one, he came to my house... and met my entire family. All seven of my siblings plus my mom AND grandma. At once. If that doesn’t sound intense, I don’t know what does. But he didn’t flinch—not even a little as my little brother showed no hesitation and chased after him with a stick. That’s when I knew: if he could survive a full family introduction right out of the gate, he might actually be the real deal.

But here’s where it gets even crazier—we found out later that we had actually already met back in high school. Apparently, we were both at the same party once, but neither of us remembered it until we started swapping stories and realized we’d been in the same place at the same time years before. It’s wild to think how close we were back then without even realizing it.

So maybe our story isn’t traditional—but it’s ours. A little wild, a little unexpected, and just right.
