Our Wedding

It was a sunny September day when Savannah and Isaac’s attention was caught by each other on Hinge. Something about their profiles stood out—maybe it was their shared love for the outdoors, their mutual pursuit of faith, or Isaac sporting his mustache phase. Whatever it was, it sparked a connection that led to a match and set the stage for their first date. While most would be wary of meeting a stranger for a first date in a local forest preserve, Savannah thought otherwise. Her reasoning? If this stranger had read Bob Goff's&nbsp;Love Does, they must be trustworthy—or at least trustworthy enough for her to notify her sister to track her location. And so, on September 16th, Savannah and Isaac met for a hike in the forest preserve, a decision that would change their lives for the better. It was during this hike that Savannah found that Isaac was&nbsp;one well worth knowing. A South Dakota boy who claimed he was going to become a doctor and that medical school wouldn't be that tough, he only had to treat it like a 9-5 job and he would be fine. Little did they know that the next year of their lives was going to be radically different from their first meeting. Isaac soon found out medical school was indeed tough and required a lot more than a 9-5 effort. However, he made it a priority to dedicate whatever free time he had to being with Savannah. Together, they enjoyed exploring new hiking trails, visited local breweries, attended church with close friends at Community Christian Church and evenings by the fire pit in Isaac's backyard. Each shared moment strengthened their bond, and they fell more in love with each other through the challenges and joys of the year—Isaac immersed in school and Savannah navigating a rigorous company season. When summer arrived, it seemed as if they had all the time in the world to spend with one another. Summer was filled with time outdoors and travels to South Dakota and Vermont, where they formed a deeper bond through shared experiences, family visits, and learning more about what made each other tick. Their mutual love for family and faith became an even stronger foundation, setting the stage for a pivotal chapter ahead. As summer turned to fall, Isaac and Savannah found themselves facing new career decisions and hardships.&nbsp;This led to some time of fully leaning into each other and most importantly leaning into their faith and trust in God to comfort and lead them where they were being called.&nbsp;Amidst this season of discernment and reliance on each other Isaac took Savannah back to the place where they met and proposed to her atop a log&nbsp;in their favorite forest preserve. Now, their story brings us here, as they prepare to celebrate their next chapter. On August 2nd, in the beautiful state of Vermont, where their adventure gained its official blessing, Savannah and Isaac invite you to join them. Surrounded by family and friends, they look forward to commemorating the beginning of their life together.

Perfect for families or science enthusiasts, this interactive museum explores the ecology and history of Lake Champlain with hands-on exhibits and aquarium displays.

Take in the lake and mountain views with a walk or bike ride along the Burlington Bike Path. The path weaves along the shoreline, offering access to Waterfront Park. Music and food festivals are often held here during the summer months.

Take a boat ride on Lake Champlain with Spirit of Ethan Allen Boat Tours. Rides are offered daily with a variety of boat tours to choose from.

Relax and soak in the stunning views of Lake Champlain at Charlotte Beach. Perfect for a jump in the lake, morning stroll, or simply enjoying the scenery.

For sweeping views of the Champlain Valley, take a short hike up Mt. Philo. The summit offers an incredible panorama of the lake and surrounding mountains.

Shelburne Museum is a museum of art, design, and Americana located in Shelburne, Vermont. There's a mix of buildings and stores along the grounds to explore.

Shelburne Farms is a historic estate on Lake Champlain, offering scenic walking trails, a charming farmyard, and stunning views. Be sure to visit the farm store for local goodies or enjoy a meal featuring farm-to-table delights!

One of Vermont’s most iconic peaks, Camel’s Hump is the third-highest mountain in the state and offers some of the most breathtaking scenery in New England.

A hidden gem in Stowe, Vermont, Bingham Falls is a stunning natural waterfall that you can hike to and is perfect for a summer swim. One of Savannah's personal favorite "potholes" to jump into.

Just a short drive from Stowe in Waterbury, the Ben &amp; Jerry’s Factory offers fun tours, delicious ice cream samples, and a peek into how their flavors are made.

Stowe offers a perfect mix of outdoor adventure and small-town charm. Shop at the stores in town, take a hike on Mt. Mansfield, or hop on a gondola ride at Stowe Mountain Resort.

Why Vermont?With both families being from various parts of the country we found that no matter what we would have to compromise on people traveling. Therefore, we chose Vermont as our destination for its beauty and its significance, since it was Savannah's childhood home, and the couple spent last summer vacationing there. What airport should I fly into?The best airport to fly into is Burlington International Airport. Located just minutes from downtown Burlington, VT and twelve minutes from the Intervale Center. What to wear?Semi formal attire is encouraged and appreciated. Can I bring a plus one?Though we would love for everyone to bring a guest, we ask that only significant others are added to your list. Where do I park? Guests, please park in Parking Lot 1 or 2 at the Intervale Center (See the attached photo). Please do not park in the Gardeners supply main lot, their mulch lot across the road, Burlington electric, or along the road.
