Our humble beginnings started on the 8th grade track team where I met Isabel for the first time. She is the kind of person who, when you meet her, you immediately want to be her best friend. That is exactly how I felt, given I also started to develop a crippling crush on her. I caught feelings immediately but sadly the feelings were not reciprocated. I realized that I also hated running but I forced myself through it because I wanted to see her, it was rough but worth it.

Fast forward to the summer going into freshman year of high school and not much had changed. I was as flirty as humanly possible, though I am not incredibly proud, I am glad it worked out in the end. Everyone knew it too, including Isabel. I tried way too hard, I liked her a lot. But finally freshman year came, it's high school and maybe this is the time she will finally reciprocate feelings. But alas, still nothing, not a yes or a no. It wasn’t until February that she finally told me how she felt in an Instagram DM. This was the first time she had told me that she had feelings for me and man, was I excited. Though we didn’t officially date until we were 16, we hung out all the time and talked to each other nonstop. It finally reached November of Sophomore year, a little bit after her birthday, we were now both 16 (finally). This was such a long time coming since I have liked her since we ran track together in the 8th grade. I asked her to be my girlfriend after a geometry tutoring session which is crazy romantic and she said yes.

Besides the fact that I did not plan our first date well at all whatsoever, we became the best of friends, telling each other everything and having so much fun. We went through all of high school only breaking up one time (personally don’t suggest doing that). Our senior year I messed up big time and we broke up right before the summer started. We were broken up the entire summer going into our freshman year of college. Though this time was incredibly hard, God used it for incredible growth in both of us. To be honest, especially me. Eventually, Isabel and I really talked, after a good amount of time apart, about what it would look like to get back together. After a lot of prayer and seeking others we decided to get back together, PRAISE THE LORD. About a year and a half later, we were driving back from a trip to Missouri when we had such an amazing God moment in which He bluntly told us it's time for us to pursue marriage. It was quite a process but on November 4, 2023 I asked Isabel to marry me and she said yes!

I am beyond blessed to do life with Isabel and feel so honored to marry her. Isabel means the world to me and I am so excited to love and serve her as Christ did the church. I pray that God would be glorified through our marriage, our words, and that our deeds would point others to Him whom we belong!
