Our Wedding

Isabel and Dave met in July 2017 at a mutual friends' housewarming party. They dated long-distance for a few months until Isabel officially moved to Chicago in January 2018 for grad school. The rest is history!

We have a block of rooms at the Ambassador, but there are plenty of hotels downtown and lots of Airbnb options as well! Just try to stay close to the Ambassador so you can catch the shuttle to and from the reception!

Travel

Bill is Dave's older brother. They go way back. They once got lost on Vespas in Rome in the middle of the night; turns out they don't use a grid system. On the same trip, Bill and Dave made friends with the mayor of Kilkenny, Ireland, who bought them Guinness for an entire evening.  While Bill looks handsome in uniform, he will be required to wear a suit and tie just like everyone else so he doesn't take the attention away from the bride and groom.

Sarah is Isabel's older sister. Sarah welcomed Isabel into her home when she first moved from OKC, thereby saving her from the mean streets of Chicago. A volleyball and kickball enthusiast, Sarah is well known in the Chicago intermural athletic scene. By day she preserves and restores Chicago's historic landmarks. Sarah was once in a movie with Brad Pitt. Sarah was there the night that Isabel met Dave and she didn't stop the blossoming romance, so it could be said that this whole thing is her fault. Sarah Horton

Frank and Dave were on the wrestling team together in high school. Frank was pretty good but Dave was better. Sophomore year they were both extras in the Marmion-Rosary production of Damned Yankees, which was met with critical acclaim. When Frank and Dave were roommates in Chicago they hosted monthly Sofar concerts in their living room, which earned them a free trip to Cuba that they forgot to schedule. Frank Williams

Alex is Isabel's older sister. She serves as a friend and role model, even though when Isabel was in high school and visited Alex at college, Alex let her friend give Isabel shots of blueberry burnetts, which gave Isabel a tummy ache (censored). Their relationship rebounded after that, and, along with Sarah, they lived together in Chicago during Alex's layover between Boston and Seattle. Alex Horton

At a whopping 6'4", Adam is Dave's tallest friend. Dave is Godfather to Adam's daughter, Eloise. Adam can paddle a canoe, build a picnic table, and chug a beer better than any man in the northern burbs. When they were roommates, Adam was remarkably patient when Dave decided to teach himself to play guitar. Adam taught Dave the proper way to clean a cast-iron skillet, after scolding him for letting it soak. Conversation topics: woodworking, video games, reddit trending topics. 

Adam Havey

Stephanie is Isabel's oldest friend. They used to choreograph dances that they would perform in Stephanie's grandmother's living room. However, Stephanie chose not to pursue dance professionally. She is currently a resident at Rush in Chicago. Rather than schedule doctor's appointments, Dave and Isabel ask her for medical advice. Call her Dr. Trautmann to make her feel awkward. Conversation topics: modern medicine, biology, the absurdity of Chicago accents

Stephanie Trautmann

Rocco and Dave were on the wrestling team together in high school. They were neighbors in Chicago until Rocco moved to Los Angeles to follow his dreams. In a testament to the quality of friend he is, Rocco cat-sat for Dave and Isabel several times before admitting that he's allergic to cats. Dave and Frank arguably still owe Rocco money for blowing the suspension on his station wagon on the way home from Bonnaroo freshman year of college. Conversation topics: American military history, advertising/media buying, Reddit trending topics. 

Rocco Hudon

Sarah is Isabel's second oldest friend, but it's not a contest. She moved to Chicago to be closer to Isabel because their powers are stronger when they're close. She is currently a neighbor to Isabel and Dave, and is a great cat aunt despite not being able to touch them without breaking into hives. Sarah and Dave once sang a karaoke rendition of "Islands In The Stream" that brought down the house, but it was overshadowed by awkwardness because neither of them realized how romantic the song was. Isabel cried laughing. By day, Sarah works to help Chicagoans at risk of homelessness. Conversation topics: social work, Winnie, Twilight Breaking Dawn parts1 and 2

Sarah Castillo

Ryan is Dave's oldest friend; they've known each other since preschool. They both went to Marmion and U of I, where they were fraternity brothers. After college they moved to Vail, CO and were ski bums together. When he's not cold-weather surfing, Ryan works as a Physician's Assistant at Yale Hospital. When they were 6 years old, Ryan ratted out Dave and Bill to the cops. Dave has forgiven Ryan, but will never forget. Conversation topics: modern medicine, snowboarding, surfing, woodworking

Ryan Riordan

Kaylee and Isabel were sorority sisters at OSU - Pi Phi 'til I die. Kaylee's family had cattle growing up, which fascinated Isabel. In college, Kaylee would tweet questions that Isabel would ask her about farm life such as, "did you pet your cows a lot?" Isabel stood up in Kaylee's wedding, which took place in a French Chateau. Since then, Isabel and Dave have made loving France a big part of their personality. By day, Kaylee is a dental hygenist, so make sure you don't have anything in your teeth when you meet her at the wedding. Conversation topics: Emerson, teeth, traveling

Kaylee Ortega

Haley transferred to Oklahoma State sophomore year, and Isabel quickly claimed her as a bestie; Haley is too nice to say no and so the friendship blossomed. Haley can probably run faster than you - she once ran a 100 mile race, and the next day she had to walk with crutches. Haley and her husband, Nathan, visited Isabel and Dave in Chicago and somehow got their hands on the best Cubs tickets Isabel and Dave had ever had. Needless to say, Haley and Nathan are welcome back anytime. Conversation topics: running, One Direction, South Dakota

Haley Walker

Elizabeth is Isabel's best friend from grad school, where they both learned to be masters of social work. Dave and Isabel enjoy inviting themselves to Elizabeth's house to cuddle with Elizabeth's dog and sip lattes made by Elizabeth's fancy coffee maker. Dave is trying to convince Isabel that she does not need one too but so far has been unsuccessful.
