How Did They Meet?

Dax and Isabel met online in September 2020, during the height of COVID-19. Isabel had just moved to Kearney, NE, to start the Radiography program at UNMC and decided to join a dating app to meet new people. Little did she know, her future husband, Dax Fouts, would message her the very next day. They quickly developed a strong connection and went on their first date a week later, which was amazing. Their conversations flowed naturally, and they couldn’t stop laughing. On October 11, 2020, Dax asked Isabel to be his girlfriend, marking the start of their forever.

Their Backgrounds

Dax and Isabel both grew up in Nebraska. Isabel is from North Platte, and Dax is from Hildreth, where his family raises cattle and farms. Visiting Dax in Hildreth was special for Isabel; she was in awe of the starry skies, something she had never seen growing up in town. She quickly fell in love with the country life. Dax introduced her to farm life, and she introduced him to her love of the lake. They also discovered their shared passion for traveling, making unforgettable memories in places like Myrtle Beach, Kansas City, Orlando, and the Bahamas.

Their First Fur Baby

In August 2022, they welcomed their German Shepherd, Niko, into their lives. He’s their beloved fur baby, and they can’t imagine life without him.

The Proposal

After dating for a little over three years, Dax proposed on December 6, 2023. He suggested taking Christmas pictures together, which made Isabel slightly suspicious, but she also felt this was a thoughtful idea. As the sun set, he took her to one of their pastures they own and told her how much he loved her and how he wanted them to spend the rest of their lives together. She said YES! The night continued with a surprise dinner party he had planned with their friends at the restaurant where they had their first date.
