Our Wedding

We met at The Master’s University in the Fall of ‘22 through mutual friends. This picture was from our second date, on December 10th, 2022. That day we shared our testimonies of how we came to know Jesus Christ. This truly felt like the day we started dating (despite not actually saying it) as we became exclusive and intentional in pursuing each other!

How It Started…

After a long Summer break away from each other, we celebrated our 8 months of dating. This was also Izzy’s first time in Oklahoma. 

Owen’s 21st!

Celebrated Christmas together for the first time! This was Izzy’s second time in Oklahoma.

One Year of Dating

Izzy made it in the family pics with the Foster family in Fresno! At this point we both knew that we wanted to be engaged within the next year…

Thanksgiving 2024

We celebrated our second anniversary with Owen’s first visit to Costa Rica! A week full of adventures and exploring Izzy’s home town.

Two Years of Dating

May 2025 was a time to celebrate Owen’s graduation. Izzy’s family made it out to be there for him. This was the first time that our families met each other.

After two years and eight months, we were officially engaged! Owen flew out to Costa Rica as a surprise. The next day, Izzy was supposed to go on a fancy family dinner by the beach. Owen was there waiting to propose. Best surprise ever!

Where You'll Stay

Airport Location: SAN JOSE, COSTA RICA We recommend that all guests fly into Juan Santamaria International Airport. For the best airline prices to Costa Rica visit: Kayak.com ! We will provide a free shuttle service on Thursday, May 14th. The shuttles will leave at 930AM &amp; 2:00PM, so please book a flight that arrives before then. Customs in SJO airport at this time of year is typically light, taking about 15 to 30 minutes. If you are arriving early in the morning, consider waiting inside the airport or visiting a nearby coffee shop. Uber and DiDi are commonly used in San Jose, you may take one to a nearby location if you'd like to explore before the shuttle comes, but please let us know where to pick you up. (+1 917 294-5228). If you are arriving a day early, please let us know so that we can assist you with accommodation in San Jose, or find transport to take you to Santa Teresa early. For those who are not taking our shuttle service, we have additional information and recommendations below!

Airport & Transport

Santa Teresa is a charming, remote location, offering a mix of natural beauty and bohemian charm. This isn’t the easiest part of Costa Rica to reach. The distance from San Jose to Santa Teresa is about 115 miles (185 km )—that includes a stretch of water called the Gulf of Nicoya. It takes at least five hours to get to Santa Teresa by road, including a 1.5 hour ferry boat ride. The ferry boat has a cost of $2 per person and $30 per vehicle. IF YOU ARE RENTING A CAR:Please contact our partnering rental company Alamo at: reservations@alamo.cr OR text via WhatsApp at +506 6443-8454. (Use our agreement code: 15975) . Air transport is also available. Travelers may take a domestic, 35-minute flight from San Jose to Cobano. Cobano is only 25 minutes away from Santa Teresa, and we will provide pickup from the Cobano airport if needed.

San Jose to Santa Teresa

We will provide two free shuttle service options on Monday, May 18th. The shuttles will leave at 7AM and 9AM and are expected to arrive at the San Jose airport at 12PM and 2PM. If you are spending the night in San Jose or renting a car to continue exploring Costa Rica, the shuttle will drop you off at your requested location!

Banana Beach - A beautiful ocean view restaurant. Great place to experience the social scene in Santa Teresa, with plenty of comfortable seating. Yummy smoothies and a wide variety of breakfast dishes.

Lunch & Dinner

1. El Carmen - This restaurant is directly on the beach, offering stunning sunset views and a dog-friendly atmosphere. Fresh food, especially the pizza, falafel salad, and fish dishes. 2. Pronto Piccolo Italia - Standout Italian restaurant with its exceptional service. Stylish interior design and fun stores next-door.3. Satori Sushi - Owen said this was the best sushi hes ever had. This place has a great atmosphere, tasty food and gluten-free options.4. Soda Tiquicia - The best traditional food restaurant to experience the classic Costa Rican "casado." Tasty, local dishes with very fair prices and huge smoothies. 5. Flor Blanca - Healthy food, impeccable service, and beautiful oceanfront atmosphere. This restaurant nears the end of the Santa Teresa road going North. Surrounded by nature and an exclusive atmosphere.

Dessert

1. Gaucha - high-quality, homemade gelato and other baked goods, friendly service, and pleasant atmosphere.2. The Bakery - this place has the best desserts in town. &nbsp;Delicious treats and cozy atmosphere.3. La Glida Cafe - Bright interior design&nbsp;and really lovely to sit and enjoy ice cream by the road. Walking-distance from Dreamcatcher Hotel.4. Mafra's Panaderia - You must try their Vanilla Bombelonis! (Izzy's favorite childhood treat). This bakery is right across the street from Dreamcatcher.
