We became close friends during our sophomore year at SHSU. However, as our friendship grew, we began recognizing that we wanted to be more than friends. We decided to wait until the end of the summer to decide whether or not to pursue this relationship. This image is the last time we saw each other before heading out for the summer. While we knew that nothing was officially confirmed at this time, it was still hard to leave a best friend behind.

I often tell others how the summer apart confirmed that we would marry each other one day. To no surprise, we were officially on the road to marriage the moment we first saw each other after the summer. This image was taken during our first official date at the end of September. We visited an art museum, ate a nice meal, strolled at a park in Houston, and finished the night with gelato.

WE GOT ENGAGED!!!! We spent countless evenings talking on this bench and growing closer. It was only fitting that our journey started here.
