Our Wedding

On December 10, 2023, we had our first date at Cheesecake Factory after matching on hinge a couple days before. We quickly learned that we had lots of connections in our lives yet somehow never crossed paths until then. We both grew up going to Brook Hills Church, went to Briarwood but at different times, and our parents live less than 10 minutes from each other. We didn’t know it yet, but God had the perfect plan for us to grow up so close to each other and allowed us to meet at the perfect time for both of us.&nbsp; After our first date, we couldn’t wait to see each other again and again, and since then we have seen each other almost every single day. We started dating in the Christmas season, so our early dates consisted of lots of Christmas movies and going to see Christmas lights. I asked her to be my girlfriend in January, and shortly after that I knew I wanted to marry her. In February, I was leaving her apartment one night, and I heard an audible voice from the Holy Spirit say “that’s your wife.” I knew then that one day I would marry her and couldn’t be more excited.&nbsp;Once Spring rolled around, our favorite date was watching the stars on the lake. We got to see the northern lights, shooting stars, and even a space x fragment reentering. One of our favorite summer memories was our trip to Zion with Isabella’s whole extended family. This was a trip of a lifetime getting to see Vegas, Zion National Park, and the Grand Canyon all in an 8 day span together. I ended up telling her that I loved her just a day or two after we got back from the trip.&nbsp;After our engagement in August, we needed each other’s support more than ever. My dad had to have open heart surgery, both of my grandparents passed, we were both changing jobs, and she was starting her masters program. She was there every step of the way. She came to the hospital with me for hours at a time for multiple days while my dad was there for two weeks, went with me to visit my grandparents several times right before they passed, and supported me while I found a new job. I couldn’t have done it all without her. I did my best to help her get through the stress of working full time, finding a new job, planning the wedding, and starting her masters program. These were difficult challenges, but they were much easier since we had each other to walk through them with.&nbsp; The Lord has guided us towards each other our entire lives, and we are both so thankful that He brought us together. Our relationship is just more proof to us that God has a plan for everything and that putting your faith in Him is the best decision you can make. We are both so blessed and so thankful that God has given us exactly what we wanted and more in a spouse.&nbsp; - George Kontos
