It all started 11 years ago on one of the last beautiful days of summer in the heart of Sussex, England.

It was a Friday and the Weeden’s were throwing a house party. Will had arrived a few hours early, as he normally does, and heard a knock at the door. The DJ had arrived with his sister. He decided to take a break from drinking his cold crisp Stella Artois to greet them. When Will introduced himself to Izzie and offered to take the heavy looking speaker from her, she promptly replied “No it’s okay I can carry it”. Will thought to himself “I’m going to have to get to know this one”.

They spent the night chatting, getting to know each other and recalling their favourite moments from Bestival. The next day Will was delighted to see a friend request on Facebook from the heavy speaker carrying lady, and safe to say, after a few dates, with far too many skateboarding videos, they hit it off and began dating.

Soon after that they decided to go travelling together. It was a make-or-break trip but they survived the test. The trip brought them closer together, connected by travel and adventure, and ignited a desire to keep exploring the world. They moved to Melbourne in 2015 and then to the bright lights of New York City in the middle of the pandemic.

Together they have had many adventures determined to live life on the wild side - abseiling down waterfalls, hiking with Komodo dragons, swimming with whale sharks, catching waves on Waikiki beach and camping overnight on a volcano, to name a few.

In 2020, after a nasty accident on his bike, Will decided life was too short and it was finally time to whip out the engagement ring he had been hiding in a sock for the last 6 months. It was Christmas morning at the Bethesda Fountain in Central Park and by a beautiful coincidence it was completely empty. While standing in the rain under an umbrella, Will told Izzie she had one more Christmas present to open. He asked her to shut her eyes, he got down on one knee and proposed. With tears in her eyes, and in complete shock, the answer was of course a resounding yes.

After a few more years in the Big Apple, the couple decided it was time to return back to Melbourne, the place we now call home and where we are excited to share our big day with everyone.
