We first laid eyes on each other at the Little Fox Basketball Tournament in 8th grade—though neither of us knew at the time that this was just the beginning of a journey we’d take together. Fast forward a few years, and in our junior year of high school, Andres asked Isabelle to be his date to his football homecoming (Where he was ready to impress by scoring 4 touchdowns). He definitely scored that night… both on the field and in Isabelle’s heart. That night was our first date, but it was only the start of something much bigger.

We came from separate towns, attending different schools, and living an hour apart, but that distance never stopped us from building a connection. After a lot of laughter and countless late-night conversations, Andres asked Isabelle to be his girlfriend. We knew we had something special, and we were ready to make it work. We took it upon ourselves to support each other in sports and in school. Through it all we celebrated each other’s victories and helped lift each other through the losses.

The last 3 and a half years we have faced challenges, but they have only been an opportunity for growth. We have both learned the importance of sacrifice. Through it all, we’ve learned that love is not just a feeling, but a choice—one we choose every day. As we step into this next chapter, we know God will continue to guide us, making our bond even stronger. For better, for worse, until death do us part, we are committed to this journey with one another.
