Carlos and I met in January 2017 while both attending Franklin High School in Livonia, MI. We met on the night of 8th-grade night when incoming freshmen toured the school and met with different clubs and sports. Carlos was on the boys' swim team and had just finished a meet and I was attending with my family as my sister was an incoming freshman. Despite being on the girls' swim team for two years our paths had never crossed before. Carlos was at the swim team table helping to recruit new swimmers when I ditched my family to head over there after getting bored walking around. At first, neither of us talked to one another mostly talking to our own friends but by the end of the night, we had struck up a conversation and had exchanged numbers. After three weeks of constant texting and brief conversations in between classes, Carlos officially asked me to be his girlfriend and the rest is history!
