Feast, dance, explore: the only Lebanon guide you’ll ever need!

Lebanese food

・ Man'ouche・

Ever tried a Lebanese man’ouche? It’s our go-to breakfast—warm, crispy, and delicious. The classic version comes with zaatar (thyme), but you’ll also find it with cheese, meats, or even Nutella. We suggest trying a different one every morning.

For the real deal, start with a zaatar man’ouche from any local bakery (furn in Lebanese), or check out The Lebanese Bakery in Tabaris (Achrafieh).

・ Sandwiches・

A sandwich lover? Then shawarma is non-negotiable. It was voted the best sandwich in the world… just saying.

You’ve got two options: chicken or beef. The best spots? Boubouffe (Achrafieh) or Abou Joseph (Sin el Fil).

Want to eat like a true local? Ask for extra toum (garlic sauce), but fair warning—no kissing after.

Prefer something veggie? Falafel is your best bet. The best spot: Arax or Falafel Freiha, or Luis (once you're in Faraya).

・ Knéfé・

Ever had sweet cheese soaked in syrup? It sounds weird, but trust us, it’s life-changing.

If you ever need to bribe Elie, Knéfé is the way.

Lebanese people eat knéfé both for breakfast and dessert. But the million-dollar question remains: who does it best? Help settle the debate: Abeille d'or, Bohsali or Al baba ?

・ Mezzeh・

Going to a Lebanese restaurant? Here’s how it works: you don’t order a dish, you order the entire menu. Mezzeh is all about sharing small plates with Lebanese bread and tasting everything.

Where to go? It depends on your mood:

Abdel Wahab or Em Sherif or Diwan Beirut - Family-friendly, always a safe bet.

Mounir or L’Os - If you want a break from Beirut’s heat.

Falamanki - A classic shisha spot for endless hours of eating and chatting.

Sultan Ibrahim or Bab El Bahr or Babel Bay – For a seafood-focused feast.

Tawlet Ammiq - A must-visit in the Bekaa Valley (but check with us first—politics can get tricky).

Beit Kanz or Liza - Trendy and artsy vibes in the heart of Beirut.

Pierre and Friends - For those heading north: eat, swim, repeat.
