Alex and Isela met very briefly during college. It wasn't until one night when Alex's roommate went to a party with Isela and got extremely drunk that they officially met. Isela needed to find a way to get the roommate home and couldn't think of anything else besides calling Alex to figure out how to get him home. Alex convinced his roommate to go home and listen to Isela. When Isela arrived to the apartment complex, Alex was waiting outside to get the roommate and thanked Isela. Days following after, Isela kept being told that Alex said thank you. Isela finally found Alex to tell him he didn't need to thank her and he was helping her friend make a Christmas card for Isela's secret santa for work. Alex and Isela realized that they had a mutual friend being Isela's secret santa Oswald and that they both messed with him. Alex told her to send him a picture of Oswald's gift that was primarily Hello Kitty and One Direction items. So she did. They talked all night long and the rest is history.

Alex and Isela have known for a long time that they wanted to get married. After they moved into their first apartment together Isela explained to Alex what she wanted as a ring. Number One the ring has to be rose gold. Number Two the ring cannot be pricy preferably under $100. Alex then added Number Three it has to have an aquamarine stone.

Isela recommended Etsy as a place to find the ring. Alex found one that he liked and broke Number Two. As he ordered the ring he didn't realize Isela was still logged in. The confirmation went to her email. Isela knew he bought the ring however she didn't know when he would propose.

One Tuesday morning, Alex told her to get ready for a hiking trip with friends to Red Rock Canyon. They had to hike this somewhat difficult trail as it was raining overnight. They made it to this beautiful view halfway. Isela and her best friend Scott were tired as it was difficult breathing for them. Scott took her camera and told her to get together with Alex for pictures with the nice view in the back ground. Isela was making faces the entire time while Alex was struggling to get the ring out of his pocket. Alex finally got the ring out. No he did not get on one knee. He put the ring in front of Isela so she would notice it. Then he asked her to marry him. She said yes. Best part the struggle of getting the ring out of his pocket is shown on pictures.
