Hey, Keturah here. I've replayed this over a thousand times in my head, but at the end of the day, our meeting was definitely a God thing. I managed to squeeze my four year college degree into five years (hey, nursing school is tough), and after graduation, I decided to move back in with my parents who lived in Northern Mississippi. I had been single through the trials and tribulations of Nursing school, spending four years downloading dating apps, deleting dating apps, and redownloading them again thinking the next time would be different. I moved to Mississippi in May of 2024 after graduation and in that same month, decided to redownload Tinder one last time. Well, a few days later, I came across a tall, shy, IT man and immediately swiped right. Shortly after, I received a notification that it was a match! Woohoo! I waiting, and waited....and waited for a message from this "match." (I'm a little impatient, so it was probably only a few hours, but still!) I decided that I wasn't going to wait for him to message first, so I hit him with my best pickup line. Keturah: hey, are you missing a rib? Because I think I have one of yours ;) Israel: Hey Well, a reply is a reply! So we texted. We texted for hours a day, which turned into facetiming. And then the day came that we were to have our first date. We decided to meet at an Olive Garden closer to me on a Saturday afternoon. Saturday rolled around, and I was so nervous. When he got to the restaurant, I walked over to his truck, and I gave him a hug. Our first hug. All my fear and anxiety melted away. Immediately I was comfortable, and happy, and safe with him. We talked, ate, and when we were finished eating, neither of us were finished with our date. Dinner, shopping, the movies, dessert; we spent hours together on that first date. Even after we had exhausted every excuse to not leave each other, we agreed that we would have another date soon. I was already falling in love with him. So fast forward nearly eight months and we have decided on forever. Forever cherishing that first date, the many dates after, and the years of dates to come.
