Loving each other has always been a choice. In choosing one another we have found happiness, talks, memories, laughter, sorrow, pain, Family, love, engagement and marriage. We met while we were on recruiting order, another moment in time where we were in each other's lives without even knowing it. We may have crossed each other's path many times before and didn't meet. We both joined the Navy and were in boot camp at the same time. We both got stationed in Norfolk at the same time, both on ships at the same time. At one point we worked for a moment on the same ship together, got out the Navy the same year. We decided to get back in around the same time. We then both went back to active duty on the orders around two months apart but ended in the same command, which eventually allowed us to meet. I was going through many life changing events but never once does Anthony shy away or is scared of anything really (so he says) We then eventually ended up in recruiting school together where we shared our first kiss when we went away for school two weeks from one another. In all those years and moments where we were at the same, at the same time God has a different timeline for us but it ended in us together.

The moment Anthony met Kenneth and Elsa he was overjoyed with love and care for them. He wanted nothing more than my babies to be his babies because he knows being a father is not just biological. Through time our memories became OUR's, and he wanted nothing other than to protect and care for his new family. We shared many dates together, family outings, and vacations. Life is hard but once in a while you will find those people and moments that make it worth living. Anthony was that for me and I was for him.

Over time Anthony planned and planned on how he would ask me to marry him to make our family official. On October 14, 2 years and 8 months later Anthony made a fake flyer for an event at a brewery starting our favorite local band, BJ Griffin. I was doing everything to not go because it was a Wednesday, but Anthony was determined to make sure it was not going to be predictable and because I am nosy and have no sense of patience I would have found out. so, he did it in the middle of the week. He made a whole table with candle, flowers, pictures, and hand stenciled on wood with 'SHE SAID YES" (i wonder what he would have done if i said no LOL) and of course my favorite BALLONS. Along with a heart shaped on the floor with rose pedals while BJ Griffin played and sang Sam Smith in the background. On that day he got down on one knee while I held a beer mug with the word Iss G. Chavez will you marry me!! Everyone who knows me knows how much I love beer.

We got married on 11-11 as everyone knows, but due to covid we were not able to have a wedding and we did not want to chance it when things started opening back up. Now that we are in a better place please come and join us to finally exchange those vows and watch us choose Love to continue as we still FALL IN LOVE.
