We first met on the basketball courts of Weston Regional Park where we played a few friendly matches. We later met again amongst soon to be mutual friends and our friendship began. Throughout our friendship we learned we had similar interests involving fishing, snorkeling, beach clean ups, basketball, badminton, enjoying time with friends and family and most of all, the love for the ocean.

We acknowledged each other's kindness, loyalty and humor. As friends, we shared in watching each other accomplish our goals. Ivan finished paramedic and fire school and got hired at Memorial. Kelsey graduated nursing school and got hired at the same Memorial hospital as Ivan. Understanding that Kelsey's goal was to be an ER nurse, Ivan helped Kelsey network and get to know some of the ER staff during hangouts after work.

At a going away party for one of the ED nurses at the local hole in the wall bar, "Geronimos," we found ourselves being the last two standing, talking for hours and closing down the bar at 4am. Ivan made a move and kissed Kelsey, well the friendship changed...

In the early stages of dating we learned a lot more about each other on a deeper level. We realized we share similar values and life goals. So far we have proven to be a strong team with faith, trust, lots of love and a french bulldog.
