I am Ivy’s older sister and more importantly, her favorite person in the world. Just kidding, I think Joel stole that title from me. Currently, I am a Labor & Delivery Nurse in Northwest Arkansas and love celebrating new birthdays every day! Some of my favorite memories with Ivy are doing her hair for school dances and prom, playing “imagination” with Barbies and dress-up clothes, and wearing matching Christmas dresses to church every year.

Me and Ivy met at a church retreat back in 7th grade. It was one of those things where we knew who each other was but never really talked until then. It was so fun we had the best time and have been friends ever since. We’ve had countless sleepovers and weird stories but I think one of my favorite memories with her is when we stayed up and binged all of the Twilight movies cause I hadn’t seen them! We made the unhealthiest snacks and stayed up way too late but it was awesome. I am so excited to be celebrating Ivy and Joel and am loving being able to watch an “old friend” grow up and go through this stage of life! 

Lily Salveson

I had the honor of being Ivy’s small group leader at Georgia Tech during her first year on campus. We met before she started school and it was love at first sight. After a life changing conversation over some Chick-Fil-A sandwiches, I knew that we had a lifetime of adventures and funny stories in our future. Since then, we have led our own small group together, lived together for two years, and boogie-woogied in our living room into the wee hours of the night. Even though we will never live together again, I am so drawn to Ivy I decided I couldn’t stay away from her so I am working on my masters at Georgia Tech just to be closer to her!

Ivy and I first met at Georgia Tech RUF and bonded over Taylor Swift and Ivy being from close to Nashville and whether or not Ivy listened to the song “Ivy” (lol). We became friends and lived together for the next couple of years! Some key memories include goofing around well into the evening, keeping Ivy’s appendix intact, and trips to Waffle House in the inclement weather storms. It has been such a joy to get to know Ivy and I can’t wait to watch her enter this new chapter of marriage with Joel! Currently, I am living in Blacksburg, VA and working as a Chemical Engineer .

Janie Rogers

Ivy and I have known each other since her freshman year of college. We met through the campus ministry we both did/do, RUF. I don’t remember what my first interaction with Ivy was like, but one day she appeared and has been a blessing in my life since. We were roommates for two of the years we’ve known each other, and those were when my favorite memories with her were formed. The countless nights where we stayed up late talking about who knows what and watched random movies and bad tv shows were some of the best moments of my college and young adult life. Sadly, that chapter of being roommates has come to a close, but I will forever cherish that time and am so excited to see her and Joel get married. Since graduating from Georgia Tech, I have begun working as a Civil Engineer in Alpharetta, GA.

Ivy and I met through Joel in 2023, and hit it off! Our friendship has grown significantly since then, enjoying double dates, board game nights, and now celebrating each other in our weddings! To know Ivy is to know a true friend. She is someone who will always crack hilarious jokes, celebrate with you, love you, and support you. I am beyond blessed to have Ivy in my life, and am so excited to celebrate her and Joel in their marriage!

Emma Hinkelman

I met Ivy at yet another Pasquarelli wedding, where we embarked on a long winded quest to add some cheez whiz to an unsuspecting Joel’s ice cream. Thus began a new friendship of chaotic shenanigans and pop culture references no one else in the family understood. I am currently in my senior year at Savannah College of Art and Design studying Production Design with a hope to pursue costume design in the future.

Groomsmen

Luke takes great pride (possibly too much) in the fact that he has known Joel longer than any of the other groomsmen. As Joel's older brother, he has been there from the very beginning and has witnessed first-hand Joel's remarkable metamorphosis from a diminutive bowl-cut-rocking boy who knew wayyyyy too much about animals to the powerfully prolific and incredibly good-looking polymath he is today. He and Joel have been fierce Monopoly opponents, soccer teammates, college roommates, and co-conspirators in an ever-increasing list of merry schemes. Luke is deeply honored to stand by Joel as his best man as the Lord knits Joel and Ivy into one family. 

Luke Pasquarelli

Nathan Daly is proud to have been adopted as Joel's son at some point during 10th grade math class—though the papers, if they ever existed, have been lost. He has, with varying degrees of success, emulated his adoptive father in such pursuits as rock climbing, philosophy, and baking, and has enjoyed many a board game with him: store-bought or made-up, wacky or serious, long or short.

Joel has described Nathan as "the most poetic mathematician I know," which he hopes is a compliment. Assuming it is, Nathan gladly names Joel the most mathematical painter he knows, with gratitude for many, many hours spent discussing the wisdom and beauty of God which unite their two disciplines.

Above all, Nathan prizes Joel as a faithful friend and brother in the Lord. He owes much to Joel's prayers, encouragement, and example. It has been his joy to watch Joel learn to love Ivy, and he is excited to celebrate their marriage with them.

Nathan Daly

Already a good friend of Joel’s brother Luke, Joel F. met Joel in 2021 when the three of them shared a house in Atlanta playfully nicknamed “The Dojo” (short for “Double Joel”). Over just one pandemic-restricted semester, they quickly bonded over their shared Joelness as well as their love for art. The trio spent much of their time together cooking, playing board games, and watching TV shows in between their studies.

Nearly three years later, the Lord reunited them in Greenville, SC, where they deepened their friendship and rekindled their shared passion for cooking, beginning a quest to create the ultimate breakfast burrito together.

Joel F. is proud of the man Joel has become and excited to share in his joy on his wedding day.

Joel Fleming

Ian and Joel grew up as friends in high school together at Rockbridge Academy. During that time, they shared many game nights together, shared the stage together (most notably in Les Mis), and were a killer wing duo on the soccer field, winning their senior year championship. In addition, they spent many classes together, played onitama during lunchtime with Joel's beautifully handmade set, and grew together as brothers in Christ.

During college and after, Ian and Joel have continued to stay in touch despite the distance with many long phone calls and by getting together whenever they are in the same area. Due to his vibrant reactions to Joel's incredible cooking, Ian is currently proud to lay a firm claim on the coveted table seat across from Joel at the high school friend group's annual feast for the stomach and soul, the Convivium. Ian is so excited for Joel and Ivy and hopes to have many good meals and games of Spirit Island with them in the future!

Ian Cripe

There are very few people Josh would describe as a "Renaissance Man," and Joel is easily the first to come to mind for him. Despite now swimming in similar ponds in the worlds of education and the fine arts, Josh and Joel first connected in a place completely outside of Josh's comfort zone, Battalion (essentially Christian-flavored boy scouts). Joel's skills in rock climbing and the "athletic arts" came in handy for helping orchestrate Josh's surprise engagement on a group hike (picture above), and that was the first time Josh heard Joel talk about Ivy. From the way he described her on that hike, Josh realized that it would take someone like Ivy to match Joel's depth of thought and love for so many aspects of human experience. 

Though it started through rainy hikes, extremely long board games, theological conversations, and wisdom-sharing about life (and girls), Josh and Joel continue to share life both deeply and widely — the only way Joel would have it!

Josh Bates

Sam and Joel met at SCAD mainly due to the physical properties of object permeance. This has led to many discussions regarding art, story, beauty, and how these realities are in concert within God's creation. No matter where they start talking, the conversation inevitably ends up at the theology of truth, goodness, beauty, and  aesthetics. 
Along with the discussions are endless encouragements in Christian fellowship. From shared meals, and coffee hangouts to ultimate frisbee, gallery openings, and concerts.
Sam is honored to call Joel his friend and brother in Christ and rejoices with both him and Ivy in their marriage and new life together.

Stone: brother of Ivy, friend of Joel. I am proud to present that we are related through Christ. I am now a groomsman of Joel, and I will be participating in his wedding and definitely will be taking the tea that Ivy and Joel are providing. I am 18, and I am a very healthy boy. I love Ivy and Joel, I hang out with them a lot. Fun fact: Ivy used to build pillow forts with me, and I played Disney Princess Junior Monopoly with her. Anyways… Back to Joel! Every new year, we make funny hats, and that is a tradition we love to do. I went to his graduation, and we have been friends for years. My favorite game to play with Joel (I think) is Spirit Island. I love Joel, he loves me, and we are best friends. And every Christmas I ask my mom to get him an avocado. I hope, now, that you know my relationship with Joel and Ivy. Bye (the end).
