Frank did — and it was totally out of the blue.
We had just spent the evening watching a Chinese variety show together (as usual), laughing and chatting like we always did. Then, out of nowhere, during our call, he asked me to be his girlfriend.
No big speech. No dramatic lead-up. Just a quiet, honest question that caught me completely off guard — in the best way.
It was unexpected, sweet, and so very him. And of course, I said yes.
One of our most memorable dates was a full-day of adventure. We started with a cute picnic at Murrin Provincial Park along the Sea to Sky Highway — complete with steak, potatoes, sushi, and a slice of matcha cake (a very on-brand menu for us). The weather was perfect, the view was beautiful, and we overpacked the food, but it was worth it.
From there, we drove to Britannia Mine Museum and spent three hours panning for gold. We didn’t strike it rich, but we came out with a bag of cute, dainty, pastel gemstones.
We wrapped up the day with a sunset gondola ride at Grouse Mountain — watching the sky fade from orange to deep blue while suspended above the city was the perfect ending to a perfect date.
It was one of those days where everything just felt right — a little bit of adventure, a lot of laughter, and a memory we’ll hold onto forever.
Trying new foods together and going on adventures!
