It was summer of 2015 just shy of her 20th birthday a friend told her about a guy she thought would be perfect for her. Little did she know she also told him about her. They finally met on July 4th, 2015 at their mutual friend’s party. He eventually left the party to go to Liberty Days and she stayed back at their friend’s party and fell asleep messaging him. Both agreed after there was an attraction however he was nervous about her age and said and I quote “I can’t even buy her a beer” her reply was “I got a fake ID though”. Although she wasn’t truly looking for anything she knew at some point they would be together…him as well. Fast forward to 2018 they run into each other at Sharps Bar they were the only two in the bar so they sat with each other talking about life…he finally buys her a beer. Not long after they were virtually inseparable and thus starts the on again off again phase both refusing to admit how much they cared for the other and they go their separate ways. However, as every true love story goes they found their way back to each other in the fall of 2022 and were again inseparable. They picked out her ring shortly after and he carried the model number around in his wallet for years. After moving in together she began renovating his apartment until one night she found them the perfect house to start their life together. They moved into their new home and decided to start a business together, so spring of 2024 they did just that and bought a second home. Now Ivy assumed upon selling the second home he’d propose…BUT on August, 24th 2024 he shocked her. They stayed at her family lake house in Kentucky her dad showed up with his wife to see how the renovations were going. Her dad mentions he’s planning on taking his wife to the Natural Arch. She jumps up, although she’s been many times she’s excited to visit it for the first time with her dad in years. She begs her dad to wait on them as she decides not to even style her hair so he doesn’t get impatient. They drive down to the arch and start walking back. Mind you it’s hot outside and as she touches AJs hand she notices and comments on how cold he is. She hugs him to cool off and the second she lets go he starts to kneel and asks him to marry her. She said yes obviously and now here we are…she’s still regretting not taking the time to style her hair.
